You have to understand one thing about Fort Lauderdale and Broward County in general. Unless it's a wealthy area, the Police absolutely loath doing any work. They often condition people who call them to never make that mistake again. They use thinly veiled threats, horrendous attitudes, extraordinary lying, extreme disrespect, and making the caller feel like it's NEVER a police matter to show you they must never be bothered. You could find skeletal remains, actual vertebrae and they will threaten you, ask you how you know it's a bone? did you put it here? Coming from NYC, where Cops were once very good, it was a huge adjustment. You look at them wrong and you will likely be stopped and attacked or killed. We have reported Burglaries in progress on our neighbor's home, they never even came by to look. Rent is $3000 a month for a halfway decent place but it's all rather crime-ridden. The average salary is about $15-$16 an hour, public works is a joke, the $170 to $900 monthly water is always infested with Cryptosporidium and has high levels of toxic chemicals. Mercury is everywhere in the environment and the pestilence of Black Mold can be seen everywhere, they just paint it over. It's a hellhole, now we are getting the worst of New York and California. If you ever thought about coming here, save your life, stay far far away. We will be out soon, it took 15 years to cut ourselves loose. |
