The tech guys at work have a program running in the background which is taking care of your login's on outside sites... Google will do this for you, but you'd need to trust google for that to work Approaching the line "Be wary of mathematicians, particularly when they speak the truth." - Augustine I sign all my Karma Polymath supreme BTW.... Anonymous Coward User ID: 79787680 Bahamas 10/15/2022 06:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | While trying to enter a couple of web sites, on my personal laptop, I always have to sign in. When I go the my office computer I just click on the those logos and am automatically signed in. Why do I have to enter my name and password on my laptop and I do not have to do it with my office computer? Is there an internal setting I need to look at on my personal laptop and change a setting? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29706669 I also have this problem with YouTube. It frustrating that my laptop will not keep my name and password between each session. Also, if you have a explaination please treat me like a second grader and leave step by step instructions. I am not computer literate and this is bugging me, considerably. Thanks for any guidance. power cycle your router |

It is in the browser settings > Auto Fill. Sometimes when you have multiple entries for the same site due to the site using multiple servers, there may be a conflict if one was told never to save but another server has saved passwords. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 54532110 United States 10/15/2022 06:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | at work there are trusted sites and perhaps have authentication turned off from your co. on windows you would allow trusted sites to save that data as well or add the site to trusted sites which I think may allow the password to be saved. this is really bad tho. type yer shit in it may be those moments that you realize you are not sending the site the right data and they could collect failed attempts and say someone with a nefarious agenda could take those failed attempts and try them on other sites where wolla, they gain access as you. Im stoned, but someone would prolly agree with my above statements |

I'm assuming it's that one popular operating system from Microsoft. I'm further assuming it's a fairly new version. They change the details of how you go about changing settings more often than they should. I'd tell you just to do away with secure logging in. That's in the "Admin" settings, and you get to them either by finding something on your desktop or Start button that says "Settings" or on an icon that looks like a little gear. |

When I go the my office computer I just click on the those logos and am automatically signed in. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29706669 It depends on the Browser you are using for exact details on configuration, also be warned you are entering into a quagmire here. Best if you can find someone who understands a bit about this who can help and advise you. The browser can be configured to remember web site log-on details (user name and password) and prompt whether you want to save. Also Cookies remember log-in, but it is best to configure to flush on Browser close or you will get caught up in AI algorithms that keep giving you similar results. Another thing is to disable remembering of Credit Card Details. Find the settings menu and spend a little time going through them. You will find the things you want under "Privacy / Security" and then sub-menu "Logins and Passwords" Make sure you are careful not to save passwords for sites that have payment stuff. Creating several Browser Profiles can be more secure too, especially for on-line banking etc. Whenever you get a remember login pop-up always think carefully if you want details to be saved. Using a text document tucked away in a sub folder that you can copy and paste may be a good option for the less important stuff if it's because you struggle to type (key inputs). Good luck! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 84428041 Costa Rica 10/15/2022 08:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I believe the web browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Safari, etc) you are using on your personal computer has some settings that are preventing you from staying logged in like on your work computer. To confirm whether this is the case, you should try using a different web browser on the same computer (so, if you currently use Chrome, try Edge) and try it out for a day or two. If things seem better, then the problem is with the settings on your browser. You could just reset all the browser settings (or even un-install and re-install the browser), or go through each one by one and test. |
