Demons are real. They lack a few things. If you are impeccable, they can't 'grasp onto' something in your psyche and try and make you micro-focus on it. So lacking the NPC fears/drives, they have zero creativity to determine what they are supposed to do with you.

They have minimal language skills. SO Crowley's take on 'all you need to navigate this world is a KJV and a good dictionary of etymology' stands as a truth. Hence word Mag(e)ick drives them into a state of discombobulation. I'd add to Crowely and include a lexicon in your skillset.


They lack the ability to laugh at themselves, so a fine sense of humour (pointed at them) drives them pretty much insane. Develop a good ability to 'take the piss' out of things. Ie, making fun of something while circling around the real humorous aspects of what you are mocking. They also lack the ability to have open ended planning. Way to much hubris to ever think they might lose.

By default, all humans have a host of astral entities attached to their soul's energy centers, all competing for influence and attention. Some have more, some have fewer depending on your level of spiritual development, self-awareness, or initiation into a religion. Religions are capable of producing collective soul constructs or "egregores" that can serve to insulate one from malign astral beings. The protection you receive is dependent on your level of faith and how frequently you interact with and immerse yourself in that spiritual community. Among practicing black magicians, it is widely accepted that both Christians and Muslims are notoriously difficult to effect with demonic emissaries due to both the intensity of their faith and the sheer number of adherents to both religions. The more people in your faith and the more unified your shared beliefs are, the more powerful the veil of protection becomes.

From parasite to symbiote, it divests itself of false duality so that it might hold both aspects of power simultaneously. In the process of consuming a soul, it unwittingly becomes that soul, and the invisible fluid light of gnosis penetrates its mind, waking it up from a nightmare it had forgotten it was in. But such hearts that would have the clarity and wisdom to transmute a demon are indeed preciously few in any age.
