I'm from Cinci, and everyone agrees on this point. He paid a lawyer $1.5 million and still got banned because he had to run his mouth about the Baseball Commissioner and got banned for life. If he had shut up and let his mouthpiece do the talking he might have not gotten banned. He's a street kid from the post WWII area of Cincinnati known as Sedamsville area of Cincinnati. It was a rough Irish neighborhood when he was growing up.

It was his street kid mentality that had to have the last word, so he wouldn't shut up. He will get reinstated and into the Baseball Hall of Fame, but not while he is alive.

I was never mad at him to begin with! And as i understand it,
he never bet against his team so imo the whole thing is stupid.
