My grandmother went deaf at 29 years old from complications of the mumps. She was quite the singer in her youth. Even sang back up for Tex Ritter! After she went deaf, she didn't sing anymore because she couldn't carry the tune.

She was proud, smart woman and this is fuckin' embarrassment to people with disabilities. They're making a spectacle of this person and little else. To hell with Hollywood!
