I think it's possible that people are so warped and messed up that they can't separate the idea of being *attracted* to someone from the idea of simply finding someone pretty/cute/beautiful etc.

It is totally normal to find the beauty in things without needing to/having the desire to possess it and/or fuck it.

If someone doesn’t abuse a child physically or psychologically then technically they did nothing illegal. If we go deeper down the rabbit hole… there are other things that are similar. People want prostitution (between consenting adults) to be legal but the majority of prostitutes are abused by the people who ‘control’ them. A resolution for that would be legal prostitution that is regulated where the owners of a ‘brothel’ or whatever are tracked to make sure the prostitutes are not abused (physically or psychologically). Maybe legal prostitution between consenting adults that are monitored is the way to go (cameras, etc?). We gain some freedoms but we lose some as well like not wanting to be monitored. It is why Edward Snowden is both a hero to one half of the world and a villain to the other half.

If a pedophile is truly non offending and has the strength of character to keep such urges under control at all times, then he or she is per definition not causing any harm. And since you'll never know if someone you know is a non offending pedophile there's little point worrying about it.

The only problem here is that "NOMAP" is being promoted as a first step towards normalizing pedophilia.

Keep non offending pedophiles "in the closet"! Non offending pedophiles must always feel forced to keep it to themselves. If they feel free to start talking about their unfortunate sexual attraction openly just because they don't act on it, then the slippery slope effect has been engaged.
