Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83991090 Do you think a persons career choice is always centered around money? Have you considered the fact that many are motivated by other standards you obviously are unaware of? Trump entered the White House with a net worth much larger than when he departed. He surrendered his paycheck back to the American Taxpayer. If you've ever held a job, you would qualify as a tax payer. I know this is beyond your reasoning ability, but trust me, some people have already mastered money and the material world, and another fugging dollar means nothing to them.. Dead soul, people! I want you to recognize them. Good idea to cool before launder |

You can still find old school ones. I know Best Buy still sells a couple, saw them just the other day while browsing around. I think the fridge brand was an Amana, can't remember what brand the stove was. |

All small rubbish from Europe, designed to wear out after 5 yrs. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14520279 Most are SMART with WIFI... what the bloody hell..I just want a fridge and washer. Old ones don’t have the built in obsolescence. It’s sad how scammed we are as consumers. Sick of it. Yep. There is a great documentary on the subject called "The light bulb conspiracy" |

I have to pay 5 times more just to buy incandescant light bulbs, which are now allegedly banned here... anything that produces heat is getting banned here in England and Europe, even our fires. |
I Object User ID: 77170769 United States 12/06/2022 04:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know, nothing is available that is simple anymore. I tried to buy from a place that takes the old stuff and resells, but washer/dryer both broke down in 2 years time. So I was forced to buy new and had to get with the wifi in it, but never used it. Digital light up with bells and whistles. No dials. Pretty looking, but nothing but problems. Alarms with lights that go off to notify of this or that requiring some attention to maintain. Nothing but a pain in the you know what. But pretty. Very pretty and elegant looking machines. Except for one of those little doors at the bottom of the washing machine that I accidentally pulled off after 6 months, now exposing the maintenance drains. Surely, there will be others that will fall off or pulled off accidentally too. New stuff looks great for a very short time all shiny and pretty and then falls apart. All for top dollar! And no choices for simple versions left on the market to boot! ......................................... Constitutional Conservative ......................................... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80928819 United States 12/06/2022 05:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Find a local mom & pop store and buy a new Speed Queen Washer Classic Series ( Not sold at a big box ). Expensive but simple design and commercial grade, the tub will fill to the top with water unlike those EPA big box LG and Samsung garbage junk lightweights and I can still use the inexpensive NON (HE) powder detergent "Bottom shelf at Walmart" with great results and I get actual suds! The Speed Queen is designed to last 25+ years and build like the old USA ones were back in the day. My washer will not overload! It will clean bedding even car covers stuffed to the top as many as I can fit in the oversized stainless tub! My last Samsung washer would constantly stop and give a code it was overladed and jump around like crazy! I love my Speed Queen. I wish Speed queen made a Fridge, can't help you with that... |

And if you open the door while driving slowly the transmission will go into PARK. WTF. |

My 2 year old Samsung fridge and it took a MONTH to fix it. I mean, FFS, who can go a month without a fridge? Thankfully I had an old GE unit from 1999 as my spare in the basement. I'll never buy another Samsung product. Got nothing but a runaround from day 1. They outsource all their customer support to a third party (Alorica?) and these people could give 2 you-know-whats about providing service. |

I think the fridge brand was an Amana, can't remember what brand the stove was. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84316582 Be careful OP, I wish I had just purchased another old used one. I got my first new stove two years ago, usually purchased used ones. This new stove is the worst stove I have ever had, two burners went out within the first 6 months, poor insulation and seal around the oven, making the surface of the stove too hot to touch even when the oven is on low and does not retain heat. It takes longer to preheat than to cook what I wanted. It does not regulate the heat properly. The surface and oven elements get too cool and then too hot making it very bad for pressure canning, baking and making jerky. The porcelain is very hard to clean, everything sticks, it chips and scratches. I could go on, what a waste of money and rip off. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 31788511 United States 12/06/2022 07:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My friend got a new expensive washer, a front loader. It locks so you cannot add the last min items or access items once it is turned on, and some items were still dry in spots at the end of the wash, never even got wet and did not come clean. She returned it. |
