Like, in my experience, people living in Minot that died in cars or outside even did not understand how severe conditions get. “ Walking 15 minutes to a fire station”. Nope.
In the duplex we lived, could not see even the house next door, for 3 days. Wind chill -100 F.

I hope people put politics aside and focus on learning from this disaster and doing the right thing. The business that she worked at should have been closed. She should have spent the day at her shelter otherwise preparing and she should have received some sort of state funded emergency pay on top of that. No one should have been permitted to drive after noon on Friday.

We lack common sense and maturity as a society. Disaster management and emergency response is a normie, Boo mer driven enterprise.

In emergency situations, you can start a small fire under your engine block. As long as you’re away from the fuel line and you don’t make it too big, the ambient heat will take affect rather quickly.

You just have to manage to start it in high winds. That means dig a small ditch, fill it with some form of slow burning combustible, and monitor it as it burns.

10 minutes later, the car will start.

Then again, I don’t expect keke to know that.

I might have attempted those in the reverse order, walk, then sleep.

Wonder if her family told her not to go to sleep. She had family who could see where she was and could have told her where to walk or to find others in their vehicles for safety. Either she didn’t listen to any of their advice or they were as clueless as she was.

When I was younger I lived in a small town on the Kansas boarder. My wife abd I drove to Limon Colorado and spent an hour inside a cellphone store. When we left the store there was snow everywhere, it was pretty nice day before that. We went to get onto I70 and the roads were closed.

I felt confident in my uncles truck and we started onto the backroads. We spun out on the top of an overpass and decided to turn around.

When we were getting a hotel room, I went and bought some alcohol. The woman in the liquor store told me I am glad you came back because people get stuck on the backroads and die.

Female democrats believe that if their employer or government says something is safe, it is safe.

There is no thought of 'rugged individualism' that early American whites had to have by necessity because life depended on it.

Right here, in this very example, is the real difference between an American Republican and an American Democrat.

There were white people who died in their cars also. A man in his 20s went out to get something and never made it back. And he was from there. Should have known better.

She moved from North Carolina to Buffalo, NY, last year to care for her sick father. She was on her way from work to her father's home, where she lived, and got stuck in the blizzard.

A few days ago I did read that the police and emergency vehicles could not rescue anyone because the weather conditions were so bad.

I'm curious to know where she worked. They should have given everyone the day off, but difficult to give a day off to medical workers in nursing homes or hospitals. In that case, they should give them beds in the facilities.

Her whole family was from Buffalo, she moved away when she was 2 and moved back to life with her dad who still lives there.
