He bought Twitter for the data in the accounts. He is part of the race for AI. He helped fund Open AI (chat GPT) and the problem with decentralized open AI platforms is a lack of data compared to Facebook, Google, etc.

Would like to believe it had to do with free speech, and some of it may be ego and the idea that he has more fuck you money and hands in important techs than anyone, but AI really is among the most important in near term. Chat GPT suffers from a lack of data. Elon just bought Twitter to fill that lack.

For those that think I am full of shit, check out “The Price of Tomorrow” by Jeff Booth. It is an outstanding book, written a few years ago and he even talked about Elon, Open AI, and a lack of data.
