Do you remember in 2021 or so, uk gov was putting out tenders for all sorts of things in years ahead.

So all sorts of gov are planning for big things.

Family doctors are scarce and becoming scarcer as the old people use up all the medical resources. I've not seen a dr in over twenty years because we can't find a family doctor.

The only place I can go to, who has a physician that speaks English, is an Urgent Care. All the primary care facilities in my area are run by and staffed by people who cannot speak English at all.

It sucks.

At the first sign of trouble, the doctors and nurse practitioners will vanish. When the going gets rough...they get going.

They have had the resources to prepare a safe place to hide-out.

For now, they will rake in the money, later they will find their possessions a valuable cushion to land on.

When Martial Law is declared...those will be vacant, empty cement boxes.

Dedicated doctors are only actors on TV. The real life ones...sold out decades ago.

No you don't understand. More and more many hospitals are outsourcing patients to Urgent Care. They are dumping routine testing and a lot of minor, less profitable procedures.

In about 10 different specialties in my hometown hospital

Including brain surgeon, They all are doctors from India

all graduated from colleges nobody has ever heard of.

My own doctors tell me not to go to them.

They are all groomed by Wayne state University in Detroit to pass their medical boards.

Most probably studied to be Veterinarians in India.

Everyone uses the Hospital ER like an Urgent Care now, so ERs are overcrowded, and take a long time to be seen.

Urgent cares dont have all the bells and whistles (CT/MRI/etc), and stupid doctors rely on these tests now.

There is a need, so its being filled. Would rather have more urgent care facilities, so hospitals can take care of actual emergencies, instead of drowning in BS people that basically have the flu, or are just in bad health due to lifestyle choices (overweight, diabetic, etc)

Also the amount of homeless, Drug Addicts, fentanyl ODs, people off their psych meds/5150 are off the charts...

Huge waste of medical resources, time, and personnel to take of people abusing the system.

I'm actually surprised to hear this. Where I am we already have a ton of urgent care clinics, & for the past year or so their wait times have been 2-4 hrs on average.

It's probably a good sign for your area. COVID has made a shit ton of healthcare workers quit for good, & some places like where I am have no sign of recovering from this. There is plenty of demand for healthcare but not many taking the jobs or replacing those that left.

If your area is seeing an increase in urgent care clinics, that will mean better access & shorter wait times than if they weren't there. Consider yourself lucky.
