Russia is just dinner for Xi. Right now Xi is using Russia to dwindle US and western stockpiles so we have less when they take Taiwan.

Ironically the saving “grace” of Russia’s (and in particular V Putin) ethnic bigotry will be that they are exceptionally unlikely to team up with China, N Korea, the Middle East or other non-Slavic nations in a joint effort against the West. The pragmatism of Stalin and other early USSR leaders isn’t existing today. “The enemy of my enemy” is not their ally - at least not yet. It will take a pragmatic replacement of Putin to make that happen.

Xi is supposed to be in Moscow for three days. Watch carefully what happens when he arrives at the Kremlin to meet with Putin. Will he be kept twiddling his thumbs like a fool in the waiting room while Putin's previous meeting "runs over schedule?"

If that happens, don't be surprised if Xi goes home early. The Chinese don't abide those sorts of games.
