Really was a crossroads year.

Beginning of explicit corporatism and big big money to cash in on. Go to 33 minutes in. Musicians in commercials. Shocking at time to see the selling out of musicians appearing in commercials. MTV of course helped bring all that to pass.

But the intersection of the old and new was probably never more evident then in 1985.
