I quit drinking any alcohol in January of this year. Lost 21 pounds, feel great everyday, much more patient with people, level headed, better appetite, no more headaches, reduced my migraines to almost zero. I’m never going back. Just dump out all your bottles and decide you’re free. It’s worth it!

I however did just quit weed..

I was a heavy user and Monday I woke up and said NO.

I'm now about 84 hours clean and my withdrawal symptoms are lessening.

Just so you know in advance, within a week your sleep will start to be broken up, you'll wake up every 2 hours or so, it will last for a couple weeks probably. Weed messes with our REM cycles and returning them to normal does that. Also expect some CRAZY dreams, very lucid.

My brother won't stop drinking and he ends up in the hospital once a month with severe pancreatitis. The doctors have told him if he doesn't stop, he's going to ruin his pancreas, but he still won't stop.

My grandfather was an alcoholic and ruined my mother's life. Now she enables my brother so he can keep drinking. Go figure.

I'm ok with quitting alcohol...

I'm not overly stuck on it itself...

But I have to replace it with something...

Obviously a gym obsession fills a bit of the void, but not just weights, cardio, to get the extra chemicals...

But those only last so long, I need something more... Longer lasting...

I'm definitely not saying Adderall is the answer, it totally isn't, but alcohol as a replacement for Adderall served me because I could slow binge over 8-16 hours if need be, at times...

I need like some kind of nootropic which isn't necessarily a stimulant, but allows a tapped in feeling, slightly different state of mind consciousness, over decently long periods of time at a time...

So I'm part of the way there...
