If you watch carefully, you see light traffic crossing over as the ship gets closer. Then the traffic seems to stop. First from the left side then from the right side. Then the ship hits the support-no vehicles seen crossing and the bridge drops. How's that?? I.m glad that very few were caught in this collapse, but it almost feels like the traffic was stooped when the sip was getting close to impact.

I agree it was intentional.

Here are my reasons, after watching the video:

1. The container ship went straight for the pillar.

2. There was a huge explosion on the ship right when it came down. You can see fire and black smoke. Why would a container ship explode, unless there was a bomb or explosives hidden in it?

3. Within hours, Drudgereport.com had a big red headline saying there is no indication of terrorism. WTF??? How can they possibly rule out terrorism in 2 hours????

I just finished watching a press conference. The ship put out a "Mayday call" and "thankfully" police were able to stop traffic in both directions, so it appears no vehicles fell in the water.

Very suspicious indeed. I've watched 100s of ships leave that port, none ever travelling that fast or that far off course - especially with a Baltimore harbor pilot at the helm. Look at the exhaust pipes, literally full thrust - ramming speed.

This bridge has been under scrutiny for years due to lack of safety measures, including no bridge bumpers around the center pylons - a very expensive retrofit.

I'm sure plans have been drawn up for years and have been approved and contracts awarded, they just needed a reason to make the construction happen. State and Federal construction projects lead to massive paydays and corruption.

Looks like at least three work trucks were parked on the bridge, you can see their flashing lights.

It seemed to be heading on a safe course before being put hard around. Never saw a vessel that large turn that sharply before. As noted on other Threads they’re in only 50 feet of water & the procedure is to drop anchor when control is lost. Also if you approach the bridge straight on there are dolphins in the water to protect the support columns. You would hit those obstacles first but the way this ship came in it avoided those to make contact. It looks intentional to me.

That is the only HAZMAT trucking route in Baltimore because it's prohibited in the tunnels.

IMO, absolutely this is a terrorist attack. The barge was deliberately going for the pillar, to hit it head on. You can see the barge turn just to hit the pillar precisely, like it had a bullseye painted on it

Nope. More than likely there was an engine room fire. Now, that could have been an act of physical or cyber terror, DEI incompetence, or just plain shoddy maintenance.

By the way, not sure if you were being rhetorical or not, but modern ships don't use coal!

Reasonable and accurate assessment, but OP needs to get the mechanism of the attack accurate. Likely some sort of sabotage in the engine room.

But can't a ship fill itself with water in the bottom to make it heavier?
Why didn't they drop anchors?
Why didn't the escort tugs try and slow it down?
Why wouldn't they have their brightest lights lit up because obviously they had power off and on.
What were the fire flashes on the bridge in at least 3 areas? Is that how kinetic energy works?
Why wouldn't they get those construction workers off that bridge? If their boss made them stay on it then heads should roll.

I got feed on facebook that is all these run away ships, this happens several times a year it's just they hardly ever ram a bridge support like that.

but it does happen several times a year so.
