Film and music does the same thing to women. Ditzy, drunk, irresponsible, materialistic, foolish, cheaters, liars, whores, toys; women are displayed as this and much worse.
The traditional family also diminished the importance of fatherhood. Fathers were virtually uninvolved in the "family". They worked, came home, ate, slept, and did it all over again. Fathers were not loving, nurturing, instructing or sharing the responsibility of raising children. If men showed and interest in being fathers, I doubt that any woman would turn them down.
Please, cry me a river about masculinity not being valued. That is bull shit. There is an entire culture of sports, hunting, etc. set up to glorify masculinity. Femininity on the other hand is not valued and has not been. Being feminine is shown as weak, not educated, silly, irresponsible therefore there is little incentive for women to be feminine.
Society does the same thing to both sexes. When you post one sided shit like this, it only perpetuates it.
