Attn: RYO smokers

I disagree, and a shitty paper can make a good brand of tobacco taste harsh. There are also tube strength considerations when injecting. Also I can't stand a completely white tube as is the case with some light tube brands. It's a real pain in the ass when smoking in low light conditions (after sex for example).

Don't get me wrong, I know there's better papers, filters and tobacco out there, but the ones I buy are the best of the choices that are available everywhere
I don't have any experience with the tubes though, I just roll by hand, but I can see how pisspoor tubes can be a hassle.

Ah, great to know. I'll put some in my order. I think that could solve several problems...seeing as I'll be new with the injector. Reading forums on RYO makes it sound a little hard...all of those dudes are always modifying theirs, my husband's an engineer but I'm not, and he doesn't smoke. Might have to really put out if my injector needs tweaking...

That's kind of funny because the guy that got me into smoking White Ox spent 15 years in prison. He used to say it keeps the mosquito's away lol

I like it, has a strong flavor that makes a change from tailor made cigs. Those Port Royal brands are nice too, rum, red wine.

I have some questions.

What is your favorite tobacco and why?

I smoke various blends- have tried many over the last 4 years and only buy D&R tobacco. I tend to go for stonger blends and my wife smokes Two-Timer Gold. I have found that D&R has the best selection of high quality tobacco. They are more expensive but at the quanities I buy I can still produce smokes for under $1.10 a pack.

What is your favorite tube and why?

I use Supermatic Light tubes for my wife and D&R Ramback Elite -high density tubes for myself- they are essential a light tube but with brown papaer over the filter so they look like regular. Strong tobacco with a light filter can still be stonger than any store brand while taking out more of the tar.

What machine or roller do you use?

I have a Top-O-Matic- it works very good. I had a less expensive machine that worked well (an Excel I think) but it wore out and the linkage broke after a couple of years.

I shop at the above link but usually call in my order. They have nice sample kits too and as a repeat customer they will send me samll samples if I ask.

I am currently smoking Midnight Special ff (flame away...) with El-Rey tubes made with a supermatic twin tube injector. So far I've tried about 5 different brands and like the midnight special the best so far.
