There is plenty of good music if you look for it.
But, it certainly isn't on FM radio.

It's so bad now that these pop "musicians" don't even sing. They have autotune to cover up their tone deafness and vocoders to cover up their shit voices.

And producers really don't give a shit about making cool sounds anymore. Back in the good days of analog and algorithmic synths, there were shitloads of cool sounds. There's not even anything worth sampling these days.

Oh god, and if they have guitar in these songs at all they even somehow manage to make that sound totally gay.

I listen to extreme music myself from time to time, but you strike me as one who would consider something even remotely mainstream as pop. The ones who feel abandoned once their favorite bands gains more fans. The ones that try to pull their favorite bands from making a decent living off their music

Depends on what you mean OP. Pop means Popular and that would be everything from Classical to Jazz to Rock to Metal to R&B.

That being said I like all the styles I just listed from current to past "POP" and other categories as well.

So, really it can be said I like music. WHY is what you want to know? I like music because you can convey an emotion, expression and elicit feelings with all the various idioms of music. I like music because even though it can broken down into math and theory, there is still feeling and emotion an rhythm. I like POPULAR music because it reflects the artist, the time, the society and listeners can relate to each individual story in their own way.

That is why I like POP music be it Rock, Jazz, Classical, Latin, R&B, Hip Hop, Rap, Punk, Ska, Heavy Metal, Adult Contemporary, Alternative, Big Band, Blues, Broadway, Country, Electronic, Experimental, Marching, Pop, Progressive Rock, Polka, World Beat, Reggae, ECT!
