Anonymous Coward User ID: 20589235 United States 11/06/2012 01:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Prepare for the potential that Ohio will NOT be determined tonight ... but having to wait on the Provisional Ballots which are not even opened until 10 days AFTER the election itself Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20589235 . Very good synopsis! Anyone know the logic behind a 10 day wait for these to be counted? The logic is as follows: For "Provisional Ballots" (in Ohio) once they are cast the Board of Election then first determins the Legal Voting Status of the person who cast the Provisional Ballot. (was the person validly registered etc. etc.). This is usually caused by an issue of lack of ID when at the polls (10 days to provide it) moving and not changing one's voter registration location, but also includes if the person was registered at all. It then checks to see if the person voted previously via mail or via early voting. Finally it checks to see that the information THE PERSON filled out (ongoing Fed Ct. litigation at the moment on this one) the Provisional Ballot form accurately and the signatures match that which is on file. With 150,000 to 250,000 provisional ballots being cast in Ohio today they COULD determine the outcome if the race is particularly tight. In 2010 one Ohio Congressional race WAS decided by the Provisional Ballots. All in all 10 days to perform all those reviews is easily accomplished in rural counties, but tough to get accomplished in the Urban Counties (the BOE's have an extra 10 days to complete their reviews AFTER the 10 day state wide hold is over with, if needed fwiw) |

The guy who insults people who ask him fair questions? He sucks up for his state? Christy could have handled it in a way that did not give such a big bump (pun intended) to Obama. If what you are saying is true - it was a very short-sighted move on Christy's part. Espeically considering that Obama does not have a track record of giving a shit anyway -- after he gets what he wants, it does not matter who helped him get it. I also note that Christy turned down the offer of free gas from the feds for his constitutents... the guy didn't want to tie up resources to protect the gas lines... and you say he cares for his state -- so he sucks up to Obama? He should have sucked it in (pun intended) and not wasted resources on Obamas visit -- resources that he is not willing to put on the line for his own people (free gas). Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

That political reality may have also (hope not!) doomed Mitt Romney in 2012. It's not that Mitt Romney is a "flip-flopper" -- no he's actually a fairly consistent pro-America, pro-White, pro-family, pro-Healthcare coverage for all, pro-Capitalism free-market and pro-personal responsibility...... but to even have a chance to come out of the Primary alive, Romney had to "change" some of his positions. And Romney still almost didn't survive the Tea Party/Ron Paul Primary Gauntlet. LOL, the irony of the whole thing. Romney was literally between a rock and a hard-place. Literally. |
