This is what happens when you choose to place your trust in the wrong men with a history of using women. I have personal knowledge of some shady, illegal and insurance fraud activities her bf and his friends are involved in. I would also lay money down that there was a harley in the garage of that house that was likely in another womans name and probably reported as stolen. They are predators that live off of women. I believe at least one of these men could be linked to another house fire involving a gas leak and thermostat. This was an insurance fraud case that went way wrong. While I believe her to have some knowledge in the matter I can't help but feel sorry for her. She was a pawn and now her life is ruined but she isn't dead like her neighbors. I hope they finally get to the bottom of this and put these men away! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27737282 So you know Ms Monseratte, Shirley's boyfriend? After watching the video these are some of my observations and thoughts on the story. - She repeatedly talks about going to the casino with her boyfriend. Someone has a gambling problem. - She is obviously medicated and comfortably numb. - She is a nurse. Nurses experience death and human tragedy on a daily basis which leads them to be very good at coping and a bit calloused. -English is a second language for her. She is "thinking" in Spanish while speaking in English. I would venture to guess if the interview was conducted in Spanish she would be a lot more emotional and animated. -She is wearing a Harley Davidson jacket. (Your motorcycle theory holds up.) - I would like to see an interview with her ex-husband. I'm sure he is totally pissed that his wife is living in his house with some other man, sleeping in his bed and spending his money gambling and drinking at the casino. - John Shirley and Mark Leonard appear to be the ones who have cause to do something like blow up a house. This is such a tragedy for all the people that live in the neighborhood. So many lives have been destroyed. I hope they get to the bottom of this and the perpetrators are punished to the full extent of the law!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27227251 United States 11/14/2012 03:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah, it looks like the center of the blast is between the two houses that were totally obliterated. I could see one house disappearing with only a scorch mark from an internal gas leak, but not two. Being that nobody officially wants to blame gas, neither the ntsb nor the gas company, there must be some behind the scenes arm twisting to decide who is going to lie about it and blame the gas or come up with a pure alternative fairy tale. Gas companies have to have good lawyers just because of the nature of the beast. They would tend to hang onto the "our investigation is not complete" approach as long as possible rather than "it wasn't us" this early in the game if they weren't sure. If the gas company was able to recover an intact meter or two, they could easily determine whether or not enough gas went through it to cause this much destruction. They have a record from the last monthly reading for every house in the neighborhood. A meter involved in a house with a major appliance leak would show an unusually high reading since the last reading compared to the others. This ain't rocket science. So either no intact meters were recovered to prove it wasn't gas related, which I doubt, or there is some serious effort being made to spin a plausible not gas related story or some serious effort to get somebody to lie that it was gas related going on behind the scenes. |

They found a meter that was in good enough condition to test so you can bet they got a reading from it. To fill a house that size with enough gas to blow it up along with the one next door would take 10k+ cubic feet or so which would certainly register on the meter as being higher than the surrounding homes for the same time period. Citizens says it conducted the following tests in cooperation with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission: · Leak detection survey of the entire Richmond Hill subdivision. · Pressure tests of the 2-inch diameter gas main and all underground service lines on Fieldfare Way. · Functional test of the gas meter at the home where the explosion is believed to have originated. [link to www.wishtv.com] there really isn't much new on the local news today, i suppose once someone is arrested for insurance fraud things will heat up again. if this turns out to be insurance fraud, which seems very likely at this point, i have a theory on why the blast was worst than they would have anticipated - it was so warm out all day saturday the heat prob didn't kick on so the house filled and filled with gas much longer than they expected. i'm not an expert, so that's just a guess. but i just can't wrap my head around them purposely trying to kill the neighbors too. that part at least had to be a true accident, right?? and, it seems it's going to wind up being ins fraud. we still don't know for sure and who knows, those people could be set up. it wouldn't really be that hard to target a home with financial and marital difficulties, now would it? not in this day and age where every bit of info about you is pretty much available to even the general public, let alone the govt. as for the other house exploding in Indiana, they seem to be keeping pretty quiet, i found the wthr link to it this morning but now i don't see anything at all. i don't think it's related, but you never know, there's plenty going on to make anything possible i suppose. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27737282 Ok, all this sounds plausible, but I need to ask, what does having a Harley or motorcycle for that matter have anything to do with the rest of the story? Are you trying to imply that because they have a Harley they are bad people? I take offense to that implication and I am sure others out there would as well. I own a Harley and have many friends that do as well. They are not involved in shady things nor am I. Please quit perpetrating this stereotype. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoy being in the wind. All it's really about is, two wheels, an engine and being on the road. Brand really doesn't matter. However, I also happen to be an American that likes to buy Made in the USA products when I can. I chose Harley over the other US made bikes simply because, the other companies do not have the aftermarket part and accessory choices that you get with a Harley. Once those other companies have been established longer and have more of an aftermarket following I'll take a closer look at them. The stereotype that all Harley riders are in "Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs" is ridiculous and completely outdated. Please quit thinking we are all like Marlon Brando, Jax Taylor or Sonny Barger... not so right User ID: 1449133 Australia 11/15/2012 11:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To completely obliterate a house it would appear the explosion wave front would have to be very tight. Meaning the speed of ignition and expansion of gas was very high. I find it hard to believe a house filling with gas would be able to have enough oxidiser (oxygen) to allow the gas to burn fast enough. What I'm saying is the explosion start with ignition along with available oxygen and as soon as the oxygen is used up, the expansion of gases slows down considerably. What provided the additional oxygen or oxidative action ????? This is all basic high school level chemistry. It's the shockwave of expanding gases which cause the damage and secondary the burning heat of the hot gases. |

The point that is being made is that a previous poster, who apparently knows the occupants of the demolished house, stated that there was a stolen Harley in the garage. The second poster noted that Monserrat was wearing a Harley tee-shirt, leading credence to the theory they liked harleys, and may have on in their garage. |

Quoting: scorpio66 Gas explosions are way too slow to create a pressure wave of sufficient energy to do this damage. THIS IS NOT A GAS EXLOSION!!! I've seen dozens of them. Some up close. They don't do this kind of damage. If this is a "gas" explosion, the "gas" is not cooking gas (natural or propane). Now, acetylene, that is another story. The shock/pressure wave from a basement full of that could do this, we'll, except for all the fire. That's another thing... Gas explosions that have fires, those fires are contained. ...usually at the gas source. In this case there was reportedly fires EVERYWHERE. It's all just so bizarro. |
