Um, well, the entire worlds oceans would need to be covered in many many many feet of oil before this would happen. Even then, I doubt they would SINK.

If the leak suddenly got worse and dumped a few TRILLION gallons of oil and it all rose to the top at once.... no, I still don't think boats would sink.
