Jesus appeared to me in a dream....what does it mean? | |
MrWreckedIt User ID: 867937 United States 05/13/2010 07:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it was a dream. he was a cartoon because you watch family guy. he showed up in your dream because you were expecting him to. You associated the light with a positive emotion so thats what you experienced. There is much more to the dream world than random things, but it takes practice. first through lucid dreaming, then OBE/astral travel. The #1 rule in dreaming is thought/emotion = action/scenery. in order to explore the true dream world behind the veils of your imagination you must be thoughtless and emotionless while lucid dreaming. |

Why am I led astray? Jesus was a man. a man who died. a man who died for a reason. specifically, Jesus took THE name in vain. the time of Jesus is over. his lesson may live, but he is dead. associate none with God. I don't care how attractive the story is. if Jesus appeared to you, then you will accept anything that appears to you. even if it is some THING dressed up in the likeness of Jesus. |

I always wanted to learn how to fly outside of my body. There's countless sources... just google lucid dreaming. I like the lucidology approach, which uses the bodys physiological traits approaching and during sleep to induce lucidity without utilising any visualisation or "mystic" style exercises... check the vids on youtube... lucidology. Other then that, you can try LeBerge (Stephen), he is considered an expert in the field. I'm working on this myself atm, I have had one confirmed lucid dream/obe expeience and it was cool enough to make me try it as a serious study. Good luck. |

His robe was tan, not white. The thing I remember is he seemed to have a new hairstyle/makeover w/beard. He kind of looked like a young Michael McDonald from the Doobie Brothers. I am not really religious. More spiritual. I believe in a higher power. I sometimes pray to God, but not Jesus. |

And yes, there is a difference "And though I believe in the ineffable glory of God, and though I might have experienced the undeniable reality of the Deity, and though I may know the secrets of the ages, these do not fulfill the Love in my heart. But to Change and Be and Do and dissolve both the subject of my person and the object of my God into the fluency of Empirical Providence. The Way, the Truth, and the Life." |
ariadneg33 User ID: 800141 United States 05/13/2010 10:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am a dream expert who has had her own encounter with Jesus. I am also very clairvoyant and can tune into you. You asked and you received more than a creation of your own mythic imagination. Although some dreams of Jesus are in fact concoctions of the mythic imagination your dream seems authentic. Why? Because the Jesus I know in my heart is humorous and I think he was speaking to your inner child and being as silly as you need to be. The fact that he pointed to the floor is very significant because it points you to the light here on earth and asks you to realize God is not above but at the root of all creation-- here on earth and through you. That tells me the dream was very authentic. The light that emerged was a combination of your own heart being opened and the merging with the master Jesus. I know that ecstasy you described. The same thing happened when he appeared to me. I never in my born days felt such a love and ecstasy. When Jesus appeared to me his hair was barely an inch long and he was clean shaven. He just wanted me to see his facial features. So I would say you have your evidence. By the way, you can visit my dream site at [link to www.dreamthread.com] and also see if you can get a copy of my dream book, Ariadne's Book of Dreams Warner Books 2001. They are out of print but you can sometimes get one from a seller on amazon. |

Nobody User ID: 953104 Australia 05/14/2010 07:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've always been a skeptic of religion and have recently been studying the Christian faith, by recently I mean just the past few months. I read the Case for Christ by Lee Strobel (recommended by others on GLP) but I was not convinced by all his arguments. Quoting: Jesus? 952012A few days after finishing the book though, I had a very weird dream... Jesus appeared to me as a cartoon. He was roughly 3 1/2 or 4 feet in height. He was caucasian looking, brown hair, brown eyes, brown beard, etc. Was wearing a white colored robe/skirt thingy with sandals. You could say it was a very stereotypical cartoon depiction, probably similar to how he's depicted in the TV show Family Guy or other cartoons. A few nights before this event, I talked to myself, asking for proof of God/Jesus' existence. When Jesus appeared to me in my dream, I saw him as he walked in my bedroom. He laid out his hand and pointed toward my bedroom floor. A circular hole opened up in the floor and white light poured out of it. The light was incredible, I felt an immediate sensation of being overwhelmed with emotional ecstasy, it felt extremely good. The dream ended abruptly. This cartoon Jesus didn't say anything, he just looked at me, pointed toward the floor and opened up a hole of bright, intense light. I would like to reiterate that this was just a dream, not a vision, hallucination, or anything like that. This dream left me very perplexed, here's why: 1. I had no intention of becoming a Christian and was not expecting to receive any possible answer to my request. I had asked a few times before for evidence or an encounter with God/Jesus and received no response. 2. For me, proof would have to be a fully conscious experience with Jesus or some other divine manifestation of God. A dream doesn't count because dreams may be manipulated by one's own subconscious mind. Is it possible that I really wanted an experience with the divine and so therefore my subconscious mind gave me that experience? 3. If this dream was truly some sort of divine message to provide me proof of Jesus/God, then why was Jesus a cartoon? Jesus was an actual, historical person, right? Maybe my subconscious mind was just replaying an image of Jesus that I had previously seen in a TV cartoon? Or maybe God has a weird sense of humor? Either way, this left me confused because cartoons are not real, they're fantasy, they're fake. Maybe my subconscious was trying to tell me that Jesus was fake by depicting him as a cartoon and not as a real human? 4. Lastly, the white, intense light in my dream did not seem fake at all. It felt incredible, like ecstasy. Maybe there is some kind of divine, heavenly, spiritual energy or realm that does exist? 5. Maybe my dream was influenced by endogenous DMT production in my pineal gland? Either way, I can't really come up with a final conclusion on this dream, it was truly bizarre, a dream I will never forget. What say you? Just don't get a christ mind confused with religion... Truth is religion no book written by mankind.. |

Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. The familiar image, presented as a cartoon is a way to present himself to you that would be relaxing yet none invasive. The hole in the floor is to show you that the spiritual is real. The substance of spiritual is what is important, as the emanations of it have left a much deeper mark than anything you have read or heard. The light is God. It says in the Bible that the word would be written on your heart... Hopefully you will understand that verse now. =) It seems like a nice dream. Take heed. Now imagine that sense of ecstasy times infinity and you have a glimpse of God’s awesome power. The reason you won’t forget it, is because it can be the first step of a journey for you. A truly spiritual one. There’s so many things I see with this dream, it’s pretty amazing. Keep it to your heart, explore it, and it’s meanings will reveal itself to you. And if you can take a leap of faith, ask God to explain it for you. Good luck! |

As to divine proof, as in a mystical experience, I've had that. But I already fully had faith in Christ and God beforehand. I just consider myself lucky I was one of the chosen ones to have this type of powerful experience wide awake. |

miss mag User ID: 1116637 South Africa 10/01/2010 06:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It means you dreamt about Jesus. awesome. seek, knock and the door will be opened. Test what he said and did in the dream against the bible. he will never lie, act outside of who the bible says he is or outside his character of being full of love, grace and mercy. He calls and we respond humbly because he is the way truth and life. Leap the chasm between faith and reason because, simplistic as it sounds, all the answers are wrapped up in Him. It is a declaration of truth. Jesus lives, Jesus alone saves and satisfies; we are lost without him; the human condition sums up the symptoms. Be convinced by Him. Dont just listen to the opinions of people (even me :) read the bible and ask Him to speak to you through the Holy Spirit. Peace. But more than that, truth and salvation in Him. PS this is a common phenomenon especially in the Islamic world were preaching is difficult. Jesus is appearing to people and they are believeing and being born again in their dreams and in real life. And then waking up to some persecution unfortunately. There may be interesting stuff on the web re this. |
