I think that most of the time they just lack that simple understanding of how things work, i.e how much energy it takes to boil a gallon of water. Quoting: Harmonicsyes under current conditions you are correct. But they can work. last year spain supplied over 50% power from wind alone. it can be done! technologies are exploding with possibilities. you are very short minded. |

Bust something and you are liable. City utilities have easement rights. I used to do line locates for several cable companies. Kept plenty of pink spray in the truck to mark the underground cable runs. If cable got cut after I located it, my bad. No locate, your bad. $150 to pay for a truck roll to splice it back together(that 20 years ago). Crop a main fiber run today and God knows what they would. 911 service runs on those now. They have services now that will do it all with just one phone call. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 994571if you have ground rights and they put something in my ground I would dig it out and tell them come and get it! then sue them! Good luck with that. No, really. I only dealt with preexisting hard plant. Not sure how a new build would be handled if they needed to go through your property. I don't think they could just just come on your land, start digging and installing stuff. Each city probably has their own way of handling that situation. Don't want to turn this into 'Gone with the Wind', you know long and boring but want to relate a story. I was with TCI in Dallas. We had a fiber hub right across the street from me. A nice quiet block. I know the fiber was buried there because I helped install it and was testing the new digital boxes at my house. Cable, phone, internet. Anyway these guys came trenching down the sidewalk. Got close to my house so I went out and talked to them. WHAT UP? Finally found somebody who spoke some English. He said it was for a new cable co. called WESTERN Cable. Total bullshit. TCI had the only charter for the city of Dallas. No other builds were allowed. They kept right on trenching. I called the office and was told it would be looked into, never found out anything, stonewalled. Called the city and got nothing. Well they trenched my sidewalk busted up my brick planters. I was hot and raised hell. Almost instantly a guy showed up out of nowhere in a white truck, spoke perfect English and handed me a real nice check. Asked if I was happy, I said I happy. He drove off. They replaced the sidewalk and planters and I still had the nice check. I swear to God still to this day those guys were under contract from the CIA or NSA. |

"There was a crew working on the line and they apparently ruptured it somehow, and caused an explosion," Cleburne, Texas, City Manager Chester Nolen told CNN in a telephone interview.
