The "buoyant forces" on 450 tons of steel at that depth would be negligable.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if BP hooked up a chain and started pulling on it with a pickup truck!

Capturing 40,000 bpd from the current cap with 3 valves open. Bigger cap to be placed next week. Extra 800,000 barrels "spilled" in the meantime.

Doesn't matter if the entire fucking thing falls over as this leak is not going to stop until the relief wells (plural) are finished or the damn thin is depleted.

Ok..let me help you then.

Bouyancy increases with the density of the fuid the object is submerged in.

Water is an "almost" non-compressable fuid. (less than 1% over 100 meters depth.

So with no reall increase in density, the BOP would weigh almost the same at depth than at surface.

So...no...not wrong
