BRIEF AND TO THE POINT User ID: 381742 United States 06/11/2010 10:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How old is he? Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support! :Brieffromnativea: |

Pain and nausea, swelling of the small intestines. The pain is like poison in the kidney area and up the back. The chest will feel like a medium heart attack. Your dog doesn't want to move from the pain. Ginger ale and a tblspoon of baking soda works for about 5 hrs. This is a temporary solution. What works is several doses of Soy Protein with a long list of vitamins in it. I think the vitamins are the remedy. Your dog isn't getting certain vitamins and it makes the intestines swell. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 979813 United States 06/11/2010 11:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i couldn't afford the emergency vet clinic on july 4th two years ago and my beloved dog died. if i had it to do over again, i would have still paid my mortgage because i was in jeopardy of loosing my house. but it really does hurt thinking about it. my doggy stopped eating too. your dog can have a blockage, or ate something sharp that is harming his insides. if there is a blockage pay attention to see if it can poop. if it can, if you see blood your dog is going to die if you can't get to a vet for surgery. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 992277 United States 06/11/2010 11:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm sorry about your dog. My old lab lost interest in her food about a month ago. We knew she was really sick when she refused chucks of steak fat. Took her to vet who did a shit load of expensive blood work, turns out she has erlichiosis(sp) tick fever. Is now on doxycycline and is 100% better. Also a girl at the gym this morning sd her dog was having same sxs. But her dog has pitiosis(?) its a fugus they get from drinking dirty water. Theres no cure for that. Do you live in the south? I'm guessing u do from your name ;) theres so much that dogs and all animals can contract in the summer. At the very least, worm the dog, you can get wormer at just about any store that sells pet food. Is the dog coughing? do u do preventative heart wormer? Don't get the expensive stuff from vet, go to feed store and get a huge bottle of cow wormer, its cheap and will last forever. However don't tx for heart worms unless u know dog doesn't already have them. Best of luck to you |

However might be blockage in the dygrestive track. Do you know the activities of your dog? I knew a couple assholes once upon a time and they killed their dog by letting it get into the bathroom trash and eating up the bitch's tampons. True story. Knowing more info can be very helpful. You can mesage the belly area and this could free up some blockage, or take dog for long walk works too. |

Dr. House User ID: 717743 United States 06/11/2010 08:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "My dog wont eat or drink, listless, lazy and bloated" These symptoms most likely can be found in tens, scores, many of illnesses and conditions. I would need more symptoms to get a better idea of what the dog COULD be suffering from, now I could post around 50 different ailments that the dog could have and depending on things like BP, heart rate, temperature, smell, feel of the bloated area I could reduce it to a handful of potentials BEFORE blood tests, x-rays, etc. Go to the SPCA NOW. They will arrange easy to make monthly payments. They will either work with a vet in your area, or they may have a vet on duty. Without an exam the dog is 'untreatable'. After all I can think of three OTC medications to treat the symptoms, however I can thing of 10 diseases that those OTC products will make worse if the dog has is leading to even more complications up to and including death. If the dog hasn't eaten/drank in 48 hours it will need an IV line to supply it liquids. Breed of dog is also important. A 'twisted gut' (Gastric Torsion) is prevalent in specific breeds. [link to www.woodhavenlabs.com] Read it, not saying your dog has this issue, however if you read it you find that a history of the dog (knowing the behavior and eating habits of the dog) is key to diagnosing the dog.
