Little of the books of the Holy Bible were rewritten. There was no need.

During the Formation of the Roman Church, there were over 600 books used by then contemporary Christian Sects that were considered holy and sacred and should have been included in the 'Holy Bible'.

However the Roman Church had an agenda, that Agenda lead to selecting 1% of the scriptures to include in their official holy book.

Further, the Roman Church worked real hard to wipe out any who dared to differ with them. A good well known example is the Gnostics.

The Gnostics, which actually practiced a much closer walk with Jesus in their theology, were all but totally wiped out, their writing banned and burned and any surviving text that should happen to crop up over the next thousand years or so was declared heretical and the person with the book was condemned to death.

Convenient 'mis-translations' also crept in. The insistence to translate the accepted books to Latin then purposefully destroy the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic Versions let the church commit translation fraud. Further, to keep the masses from understanding these frauds, only the clergy were allowed to read the texts of the bible. In the era of illiteracy and the spread to multiple languages of people, the Latin Version was kept. ANY translation to any other language was a death sentence.

On top of this, the Church officials wrote hundreds and thousands of 'supporting documentation' that is now called 'doctrine' where a few men decided how we are to interpret scripture and if you take say the Love affair of Johnathan and David and DARE to suggest they were in a homosexual relationship you are condemned. Instead you have to turn to Doctrine that goes to great lengths and even lies about history and cultures to explain that 'exceeded' really doesn't mean David got wood (which is what exceeded really means).

The Book of Solomon, a pornographic book if any was written meant for the entertainment (not so much the education of) the masses Has been, magically by Doctrine, reinterpreted into 'just a poem' that has nothing (wink wink) to do with sex.

Hundreds of years after the Formation of the Roman Church we have a Church that is a strong political power, driven by its own politics and the personal quest of power that its 'leaders' had. Thus the adoption of so many pagan rites and rituals into the liturgy and holy days - to spread the power of the political church across the world with little to no real Glory to God and Christ.
