According to the Oldest Gospel, NOBODY saw a Resurrected Jesus
Greetings all!! This is Rock Reynolds comin’ to you folks in Godlike Productions Land!

According to the Gospel of Mark, the oldest and most authentic Gospel, NOBODY saw a resurrected Jesus.

All that was witnessed, was an empty tomb.

The only people who saw the empty tomb were the 3 chicks: Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome.

Not only DIDN’T these chicks witness the resurrected Jesus, they kept the whole affair a SECRET. They didn’t even tell anyone that they had SEEN an empty tomb!!

Here are the last authentic words from the Gospel of Mark, Ch 16, v8:
“and they said nothing to any one, for they were afraid.”

In other words, according to the Gospel of Mark, NOBODY KNEW that Jesus was Resurrected when it happened.

MISSING ENDING OF MARK

(For more information about this paragraph, go to any search engine, search “Gospel of Mark” “missing ending”.)

Many of you will point to Mark, Ch 16, verses 9 –20, as authority for witnesses to a resurrected Jesus; however, the problem with these verses, is that Biblical experts agree that these verses are not authentic. They were added long after the ORIGINAL Gospel was penned.

To further complicate the matter, Biblical experts also agree that Mark originally DID have verses that extended beyond Chapter 16, verse 8, but the AUTHENTIC ending to Mark is missing! The church stole the ending to this Gospel, and the church has kept this ending hidden from you for the last 1,940 years.

CONJECTURE #1
Does the original, “missing” ending to Mark, tell of witnesses to the resurrected Jesus???
Answer: Obviously not, or the church would have allowed the ending to remain.

CONJECTURE #2
Can we use the later versions of Mark, or the Gospel of Matthew, which was written 10 years later, to fill in the holes that were created by the theft of the ending of Mark???
Answer: Obviously not, because the church HAS allowed these endings to survive.

CONJECTURE #3
Then what information was really in the ORIGINAL ending the Gospel of Mark?
Answer: I don’t know, and I’d love to find out! Here are four wild guesses:
- Story dealing with the humanity of Jesus.
- Story contradicting the resurrected Jesus.
- Story showing the Pharisee Saul in a disparaging light.
- Story showing the Jewish leaders in a disparaging light, possibly severe enough to cause repercussions against the Jews (maybe even leading to the Great Diaspora).

DISCUSSION

The release of the Gospel of Mark, in 65 AD, was the most profound event in the history of mankind. For the first time in history, the TRUE LAWS of God, “Love God” and “Treat others as you want to be treated”, were revealed to man. These laws REPLACED the 10 Commandments, which had been written by Satan.

To this day, the church does NOT want its followers to read the Gospel of Mark, the Gospel with the most “disturbing” Jesus stories.

The very first 9 verses of this very first Gospel proclaim Jesus to be a sinner, as the purpose of John´s baptism was "forgiveness of sins"!! That´s something you don´t hear in church!

The Gospel of Mark should have been listed first in the New Testament, as it is oldest of the four Canonical Gospels. But the church didn’t want your introduction to Jesus to be a proclamation of Jesus´ sinfulness, so the Nicene Council moved Mark back to “Chapter 2” of the New Testament.

Read Mark 16:14-16 which says:
14Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

15He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Well Rock, either Jesus was God or He was a liar.
You choose to believe the latter. It´s a fact that you can´t proove otherwise. So at best you have a fifty fifty chance of being right. But if you are wrong it would be better that you were never born or have a millstone around your neck in some mid-oceanic trench.

Greetings everyone!! This is Rock Reynolds.

I’ll be back tonight to answer everybody who has posted comments.

Meanwhile, it looked as if a number of the early responders are questioning the integrity of my thesis.

I do not claim to be a Bible authority. I have never read an original manuscript. Yet, I rely on the opinion of Bible authorities for a major portion of the theme of this thread.

Here are some links to provide additional information for any who are interested.

Using Firefox, I went to Google, entered “’Gospel of Mark’ ‘missing ending’”. Here are the first 6 hits:

Hit #1

[link to www.geocities.com]
Title: The Missing Ending of the Gospel of Mark, by Christopher Price

First line:
“Almost all scholars, whether conservative or liberal, agree that the ending of Mark common to modern English versions -- Mark 16:9-20 -- was not a part of the original text.”

Middle of page
“A more disputed question than whether verses 9-20 were the original ending to Mark is whether Mark ended at verse 8 or had a longer ending that, for whatever reason, was lost.”

(NOTE: This site claims to be Christian.)

Hits #2 and #3

[link to users2.ev1.net]
Near the bottom of the page
“Excursus: The Missing Ending of Mark
The Gospel of Mark currently ends at 16:8. This ending has always made readers uneasy, and in antiquity there were several attempts to graft an ending onto Mark. These endings are all considered spurious by the scholarly community. Basically, the current ending offers the reader the choice: did the writer mean for the Gospel to end at 16:8, or did the writer supply another one that has gone AWOL somehow?

Evidence from the Patristic fathers indicates that if the ending went AWOL, it did so quite early, for Longer Ending (Mark 16:9-20), found in some Bibles, is known from sometime early in the second half of the second century.”

Hit #4
Course outline from St Joseph’s University

[link to ccat.sas.upenn.edu]
Middle of page, part of syllabus

“Mark

- Problem of the missing ending
- Longer and shorter endings
- Where do the resurrection appearances occur?”

Hit #5 – Question on a forum.
[link to lists.ibiblio.org]

“My understanding is that the commonly held view is that the original ending
of Mark has been lost after 16:8. This view espouses the idea that 16:9-20 is
not the original ending, nor did the writer intend to end it at verse 8.”

Hit #6.
This site provided a link titled “Questioning the authenticity of Mark”, which led to the following site:
[link to www.waynecoc.org]
I could not copy and paste, but the theme was essentially the same as the other sites. This site also had links to documents that claimed to be copies of the original manuscripts.

Hi 2084!! Thanx for the comment! You said:
“gospel of mark clearly speaks of Christs meetings .”

2084, according to many Christian sites I’ve visited, all the experts know that the portions of Mark with “Christ’s meetings” are NOT authentic. See my previous post. Of course, you can’t trust them Christians, can you?

Hi 16684!! Thanx for the comment, whatever it means!

Hi Truth Finder!! Thanx for the comment! Check out 820’s response to you.

I’m glad you got a chuckle out of my reference to “Bible experts”. Truth Finder, you may want to track down some 7-year-old who can show you how to use a search engine. I realize now that the “search engine” comment in my opening post, was far beyond your mental capacity.

Hi 79!! Thanx for the comment!

79, let me clarify what I think about Jesus. Jesus was not a liar; however, there are statements in the Bible attributed to Jesus that I am sure Jesus did not say. The entire 24th Chapter of Matthew is an example. But Matthew, Chapter 24, was not a lie by Jesus, it was a lie by Peter, James, and John, three of the most cowardly and devious characters in the New Testament.

On the other hand, the 23rd Chapter of Matthew IS an authentic account of Jesus’ words.

Hi 708!! Thanx for the bump!

Hi Spirit of Truth!! Thanx for the comments. Spirit of Truth, how do you explain Jesus’ negative attitude towards the Old Testament? Specifically,
- Most importantly, why did Jesus tell the man in Matthew, Ch 19, verses 16 – 22, that Moses’ 10 Commandments were INSUFFICIENT to gain him eternal life (Jesus told him he had to give up his money, too.), while in Luke, Ch 10, verses 25-28, Jesus confirmed that an adherence to God’s TWO Commandments, CAN get you eternal life.
- Why did Jesus say that Moses’ 3rd Commandment, Do not take the name of the Lord in vain, “comes from evil”?
- Why did Jesus say that the Leviticus law, “eye for an eye”, is wrong?
- Why did Jesus directly contradict the eating restrictions in Leviticus when he said, “It is not what goes into a man that defiles a man. It is what comes out of a man that defiles a man”?
- Why did Jesus contradict the Old Testament prophesy that Christ will be from the House of David when he said that Christ cannot come from the House of David?
- Why did Jesus directly disobey the directive in Leviticus and Deuteronomy to stone adulterers to death, when he told the sinner woman in John, Chapter 8, “I judge you not.”?

Hi R C 2!! Thanx for the comment! R C 2, did you read the title of this thread? This thread deals with the oldest Gospel, the Gospel of Mark. And yes, Chapter 16 is the only reference in Mark to the Resurrection.

Hi 820!! Thanx for the encouragement! And thanx for addressing Truth Finder for me.

Hi Jeff!! Thanx for checkin’ in. Say Jeff, what is the criteria you use for determination as to whether or not a person is a blasphemer? Is it questioning of scripture? If so, do you consider Jesus to be buring in the lake of eternal torment due to the questioning he did of scripture?

The Oldest Gospel is Matthew and the Most Authoratative is John, beyond those even Luke of the ´synoptics´ rejoices in the technical critisism where Mark does not.
Look at the cities of the Decapolis reference and it is apparent that Mark wasn´t Galilean or Judean! We know he died in Alexandria and that the Greek Coptic rather than Aramaic was the language.
Hebraisms in the Greek made extant provide windows glimpsing truth and for this it stands, but Mark is no stand alone volume on which to solely resort unless no other witness is present and when it is recognized then at that point;
arriving at Truth is a process of reconsideration to standing correct.
Don´t miss the point, nothing is worth falling short of that, though it is certain we all fail to demonstrate the definition.

Hi Noe~Lot!! Thanx for the comments!

Noe~Lot, have you read BOTH Gospels, Mark and Matthew? And you think that Matthew was written first??? Noe~Lot, I don’t know how on earth you could have arrived at that conclusion if you have read both Gospels, but, if you really beLIEve that Matthew was written first, then there’s no point in you hangin’ around this thread. My arguments ONLY make sense if Mark is the oldest surviving Gospel (which it was, and which anybody who reads both Gospels, SHOULD be able to tell).

Gee whizzz...

Every time I see this flake posting something, it is ALWAYS something intended to make weak Chrisitans lose faith in Christ.

What a pitiful existence this loser has. He spends his whole life trying his very best NOT to have any faith, while those with a decent level of common sense spend their life strengthening their faith.

He´s more excited about NOT believing, than are those who DO believe!

Yeah... He´s a poor, lost, sin-loving soul, for whom the gospel is BAD news. That´s a given.

But, why does this pinhead try so desperately hard to destroy the faith of others?

Answer:

Because Satan WANTS him to. The Holy Spirit no longer strives with people like him so it is ANOTHER spirit that influences him. One that wishes to decieve as many people out of their faith as possible.

Because Satan is forever lost, he wants to take as many hapless victims with him, and his demonic horde, as possible. Misery loves company.

He doesnt want us to have, what he HAD.

The witnesses of the languages and contents of all the writings I´ve studied with all consideration but you are as those you follow in error not knowing the Gospel of the Nazarene or Hebrew Matthew, and thinking simpler came before. The earliest Hebrew Alphabet & Iconography is more meaning intensive than the expanded Hebrew of 5,000 words comprising the Biblical epic, So0 it is in the Gospels which the Hebrew(Aramaic) is having more infoinclusive content than the later Greek(Coptic). IF Christ has not been Resurrected, then you will die in your sins.

Sin will send you to hell and keep you there for an eternity - Pretty serious stuff sin. That is why there had to be a Price paid, and Jesus paid that awesome price in full!

You want to turn your back on that Truth then that is up to you. I just wanted to let you know what you were getting yourself into and that there WILL be hell to pay.

Belive satan´s lie....

or believe the Gospel Truth:

1 Corinthians 15: (Paul writing)

1Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born."

Greetings earthlings!! This is seeker of truth Rock Reynolds, comin´ to you folks in Internet Land!

Hi Ain SophIA!! Thanx for the compliment! Rock Reynolds bashers sure hate to see those, but I really appreciate them.

Hi Jeff!! Welcome again!

Hi Rockhead!! Welcome to this thread!

Rockhead, I DO have faith, but my definition of faith is much different than yours. My faith is based on only two commandments” “Love God” and “Treat others as you want to be treated”. When my friend Jesus said “faith in me”, Jesus was talking EXACTLY about the definition of “faith” that I have listed above.

You, on the other hand, disregard the message of the man you call “savior”, and, instead, adopt a definition of “faith” provided by Jesus’ murderer, Saul. Your definition of “faith” requires you to believe in an impossible event that allegedly occurred almost 2,000 years ago, and that has no relevance to us. Your reason for adopting this “faith”, is your fear of eternal torment (Isn’t that right, Jeff?).

Yes, Rockhead, I AM trying to shake those who have adopted the definition of “faith” provided by Saul, in favor of the definition of “faith” provided by Jesus.

Rockhead, the following Biblical passages reflect the “faith” that I have found in my friend Jesus:
- Love God (Old Testament required followers to FEAR God).
- Love your neighbor.
- God’s ENTIRE law, is derived from these first two commandments.
- Everyone is your neighbor (Parable of the Prodigal Son).
- Judge not, lest ye be judged (“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”).
- Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesar’s (This statement from God was NOT an endorsement of government; instead, God was instructing his followers to not fight battles that they could not win.).
- Love your enemy (which I REALLY think that God meant, “Respect your enemy.”).
- It is not what goes into a man that defiles a man, it is what comes out of a man that defiles a man (Jesus was in favor of legalizing pot! Hooray!!!).
- When you pray, go home, go into a closet, shut the door, and pray to your father, who is in secret.
- “Eye for an eye”, is wrong.
- The requirement to make oaths to God, comes from evil.
- The requirement to stone adulterers to death, is wrong.
- Life ain’t fair!! Deal with it!! This axiom was demonstrated in two parables: The Prodigal Son; and the parable of the vineyard worker who labored 12 hours for a denarius, while other workers were paid the same denarius for only one hour’s work.
- Moses’ 10 Commandments can’t gain you eternal life. God sent this message in Matthew, Ch 19, verses 16 – 22, when Jesus told a man who had followed the 10 Commandments, that he had not earned eternal life.
- God’s REAL’ 2 Commandments, CAN gain you eternal life. God demonstrated this axiom in Luke, Ch 10, verses 25-28, when Jesus confirmed that an adherence to God’s TWO Commandments, CAN get you eternal life.

Rockhead, ain’t it frightening that I use quotes from Jesus to define my faith?

Hi Flame!! Thanx for the comments! I’m a believer that the life of Jesus is a lot simpler than what we have been led to believe.

Hi 7808!! Thanx for checkin in!

7808, you said: “those you follow in error…”

You mean like Jesus?

7808, this may be disappointing for you to hear, but I ain’t followin’ nobody. I challenge you to find any other reference that claims:
- Jesus was real (although, admittedly, Jesus was probably not his real name).
- Jesus was not Christ.
- John the Baptist may have been “Jesus”.
- The Resurrection was faked by the Sanhedrin.
- Saul, a member of the Sanhedrin that planned and financed the murder of Jesus, may be the most evil person in the history of mankind.
- The Sanhedrin was the first century Mossad.
- 1 Corinthians, Ch 5, v 5, may be the most evil passage in the history of mankind.
- Matthew is the cover up Gospel. Matthew had to insert LIES in his Gospel to cover up the truth about Jesus.
- The first 9 verses of the oldest surviving Gospel, Mark, proclaim Jesus to be a sinner.
- The ending of the Gospel of Mark was stolen by Mark.
- The Gospel of Mark was not written by Mark; instead, it was written by a committee that was chaired by Mark.
- Half of the “Gospel of Mark” committee (the good half), was slaughtered by the church, when Mark stole the ending to his Gospel. The church couldn’t afford to have any good guys hangin’ around, who knew what the ending really said.

How’s that for starters?

7808, you also said:
“The earliest Hebrew Alphabet & Iconography is more meaning intensive than the expanded Hebrew of 5,000 words comprising the Biblical epic, So0 it is in the Gospels which the Hebrew(Aramaic) is having more infoinclusive content than the later Greek(Coptic).”

7808, I have a simple mind. I have a difficult time understanding that last statement (and I read it 3 times!!!). However, I am a big believer that an understanding of God and the Bible, is designed for simple minds like mine.

The truth and the lies in the Bible are right out in the open for everyone to see. The reason that very few people can differentiate between the truth and the lies, is FEAR. If you ever lose your fear of the Bible, as God commanded you to do, the Bible will take on a whole new meaning.

Hi Noe~Lot!! Thanx for the response!

Noe~Lot, you claim:
“Mark was easy and obvious”

Noe~Lot, I take exception to this claim. The Gospel of Mark may be easy to understand, but Christians find it impossible to ACCEPT. The Gospel of Mark portrays Jesus as a sinner, a man who could make mistakes, and a man who called himself “not good”. Christians ALWAYS reference the later Gospels when faced with these difficult (for them, not for me) concepts.

Furthermore, Noe~Lot, I claim that Mark has much more authority than any of the other 4 Gospels. It was FIRST! Mark is the smoking gun of the Gospels. Matthew and Luke COPIED from Mark. Whenever there is a difference between Mark and the other Gospels, I always opt for the Mark version.

John, the latest of the Canonical Gospels, portrays a Jesus that is totally unlike the Jesus in any of the other three Gospels. For instance, in the Gospel of John, Jesus mentions himself quite often. In the other Gospels, Jesus rarely mentions himself.

I have rejected the entire Gospel of John, except for Chapter 8, which was not written by John.

Hi 7415!! Thanx for the comment! 7415, with circular logic/doubletalk like yours, you will make an excellent Christian.

Hi Believer in Christ!! Thanx for the input!

Yes, Believer, I have indeed turned by back on Saul, the murderer of my friend, Jesus, who instructs his followers to drink Jesus’ blood, eat Jesus’ flesh, worship the murder weapon of Jesus (the cross), and call the day of Jesus’ murder “good”.

You see, Believer, I don’t accept a “dead in my sins” explanation from an asshole like Saul, who instructed his church members to “destroy the flesh” of one of their members (1 Corinthians, Ch 5, verse 5).

Instead, I choose to follow the words of my friend Jesus, who told me that a belief in the Resurrection is NOT REQUIRED to inherit eternal life. My friend Jesus told me that the ONLY requirements for eternal life, are that I follow God’s TWO commandments (Luke, Ch 10, verses 25-28).

If you want to hand your soul over to Jesus’ murderer, I’m not going to stop you, but I think it’s a shame.
