Any truth to the recent Yellowstone scare??!!

Haven't been on much today OP. May I ask what you are referring to? I know there was a small EQ there earlier.

wow, i didn't even know about the earthquake actually. there was someone who posted a short, ominous type of thread, giving map coordinates and saying 'we only have 3 days.' so i just wasn't sure what all that was about, if there was any validity to it, and what would happen if it did go off

and crap, i had no idea it would cause so much damage. and after learning there was just an earthquake there, i'm doubly scared now

That ring is the Majestic Plume that feeds it.
Bob Smith said the Utah quakes are about Yellowstone to, btw. I'm thinking he was thinking magma movement into the YS caldera is displacing things further south. I'm not sure of that though.
Look at that line of quakes going south, ending at Las Vegas. Then the quake line loops again (this one smaller that the Majestic/YS loop) towards and around Long Valley.
This pattern has been there a couple years now but is more pronounced all the time. As a matter of fact, it's more pronounced than ever today.
