Yeah, we're sitting around wondering about it, too. You remember there were almost immediate denials of any 'terrorists' being aboard, but what really stuck in my craw at the time was that one of those aboard who was [presumably] killed was an heir to the long defunct Brazilian monarchy. Given we've taken to watching the subplots involving the royals a bit and the term Machiavellian is everything in that world, this is indeed a curiousity.

Sand boils have been around since the levees were built.

A little bit about Bezerk

As you know, I have tried to figure out the acronym BEZERK for a long time. The concept
that the last letters, RK, meant Regulated Kinase, was fairly well confirmed several months
ago.

Given new searching, new hints (all available on postings on GLP) I think I have figured out
the final meaning of some other letters.
This may/will also lead us to possibly have a understanding of the calibrators, and a indication of what bezerk was for....

Several things happening in the world of astronomy and physics had been pinging on my mind, and then the thread made about Cherenkov radiation made it click.

I considered that the signal is from a radiation of some sorts, be it wave, like light,
x-ray or gamma, but none of them had the needed characteristics like penetration, to be able
to set off a MEK/ERK pathway change in the cell deep underground.
The above post made me consider high energy particles like netrino's and bosuns could be the
source.

These high energy particles are These particles are known as extreme high energy particles. Z is a variable that is used to denote the energy level in them. There is also a phenomenon known as the Z-burst. This is where neutrinos of very high energy levels may be created. There is also a particle known as the Z particle, but these are fairly short lived.

High energy particles like this are fairly good candidates for the signal as they are able to
penetrate the earth completely, only interacting in small amounts. This would allow them to
reach deep into the earth and under the ocean. This is different from almost all forms of
electromagnetic radiation, and yet, they still interact on the subatomic level with other matter.

So what we have is a description, in the BEZERK acronym, of Dna changes being made by high
energy particles from space. My guess would be Galactic cosmic rays. More than likely
neutrinos. I find it a rather interesting idea, that one of the aspects of DNA is the ability to interact with such types of matter and energies


The B of the acronym is still an enigma for now.

So, if the signal is actually a high energy particle from space that would be interacting with the organism, how could someone detect it? Reading over the OP's posts, I get a indication of a concentrated area, like the signals are being directed, even tight beamed.

Interesting. Brings to mind the idea of high energy particles being beamed toward earth. (Star Wars satellites, anyone?)

In any case, the obvious method would be to use the most sensitive instruments that are now in current technology; a form of the same detectors used in the LHC calorimeter.

Those detectors use a pure crystal of lead tungstate. This material, when hit by high energy particles, has a higher chance of creating cherenkov radiation which can be detected with avalanche photodiodes. (especially with the number of particles they are creating)


A portable detector, similar to or along the lines of the calorimeter may be what used to detect these signals. The stronger the signals, the more the organism seems to be active, according to the op. In this case, the detector may, as the signals (particle hits) get larger, it may overwhelm the units ability to determine the level of the signal. Hence needing a 'stronger unit' such as 2X, 3X, 10X, etc. (In other words, a unit with a different sensitivity.


The question would now become what are they determining the signal levels for? What weapon or device would they be using? A small nuclear reaction core exposed to the organism to spoil and scramble the signal?

It is anyones guess at this point.

You misunderstand me. Someone has manipulated the quotes, most probably by accident, by deleting one of the words 'quote' and it appears that I wrote that quote, which I certainly did not, and can be seen in not only my original post, but the next post following, which quotes me exactly right.

The letters, once forming the word 'ezerk' would be an obvious simple add of the letter B to create a word with hidden multiple meanings. Maybe the B does not stand for anything. But it implys much.

Sun rotation is 24.47 days and or 26.24 days when viewed from same place on earth due to earth movement during that time.

Thanks, Blue ET. That is correct. The solar surface is around 24 days.


The current thoughts on it are that the 33 day cycle corresponds to the rotation period of the Solar core.

Whether that is true or not I am not sure. I get the feeling they are determining the core rotation from the fact that the sun has a point that emits more neutrinos than elsewhere, and they are getting the core timing from that.

That just made me think of something interesting.

IF. (speculation)

the neutrino particles emitted by the sun are responsible for the decay rate, It brings to my mind that it may be a time dialation effect.

A particle traveling at 10^20 or 10^21 st Electron volts travelingat near light speed, seems to travel right thought most matter.

However, I wonder if, due to the velocities and energies involved, the particles actually disrupt time in area of their travel, like a wake, or even a collapsing tube.

could this set off a relativistic wave in some forces between atoms? Could this wave propogate a ways away from the particle? how far?

Correct HD it is believed the suns core rotates at a slightly slower rate as so to does the earths core. makes for an interesting mix of the goodies inside both dont you think?

Correcting myself now, meant to say the earths core is believed to rotate faster than the surface which makes an interesting mix for both sun and earth I think
