The people who live here have the Christian mindset that nature was provided by god for man to ruin. Quoting: Interdimensional warrior 0LOL, you've just described my brother! |

It has some of the best roads in the nation. Still alot of farmland and trees everywhere. I wouldn't live in Atlanta though, and it does have some parts with high minority population. It's ecomony also isn't as bad as alot of places. It's not the best state, but certainly not the worst. |

mr...bojangles User ID: 682624 Mexico 05/27/2009 01:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | too many people everywhere you go ....period... the closer people live..the easier it is to see their trash.... I wouldn`t live near a dump... no way.... and i`m allergic to big cities.... the thing about cali...is that there are too many people there... too many apartment complexes.... not enough open space.... old homes with big yards are torn down... and condos with 20 units are built where one home used to stand... all in the name of tax revenue... yeah.....but the streets don`t get bigger do they? los angeles was built for about 3 million people.... and there are 20 million people living there right now.... that is too much.... way too much... Beyond one's own mind there is no dazzling light to come shining in from outside to wake one up. If one recognizes one's own intrinsic State as pure from the beginning and only temporarily obscured by impurities, and if one maintains the presence of this recognition without becoming distracted, then all the impurities dissolve. This is the essence of the Path-namkhai norbu. Why is there a legend about the descent of Christ into hell? The Teacher addressed the lower strata of the astral world, saying: Why, by cherishing earthly thoughts, bind oneself eternally to Earth? And many revolted in spirit and rose higher. Thread: I shot video of the earth from my spacecraft, enjoy! |

You have to realize that people in Kentucky are 20 years behind what everywhere else is. They're still figuring out this device called a computer and how it works. Its like living in a third world country in Kentucky full of white trash and ignorant hilljacks. Sad but true. Quoting: Bubba 688892Sounds like Alabama and North Florida. DOn't get me wrong, there are some seriously decent country people in both those places but the local trash is working hard to eliminate them. In North Florida, we now have more prisons than blades of grass. These industries attract the most seriously fucked up people you can imagine. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 686697 United States 05/27/2009 01:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Definitely TEXAS is Number 1!! Even Houston now has the worst air pollution of any city in the USA, bypassing even Los Angeles! Bush as governor ensured that big business only had to comply with pollution standards "voluntarily". Texas is a good example of what happens when such decisions that affect the quality of life are left up to private corporations seeking a quarterly profit! I'd also include most of Dixie: Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas. These states may have natural beauty, but the people do their best to disregard and destroy it, since so many believe that the END TIMES are coming and God will refresh the earth (he'd have to use a super charged fire hose to flush out the damage the "proud" southerners have done). I also cannot stand the social inequality. There can be a lovely antebellum house followed by a tar paper shack. Evidently, the rich folk in the "big house" feel no compunction at Christian charity to help the less fortunate. It sickened my stomach. |

Most nights you ride through downtown there are churches feeding the homeless. Also, many churches pick up trash and particpate in alot of other programs for the poor. It's usually the Christians that do help the poor. Who was the first to arrive after Katrina and probably did the most. It was the churches. After we had tornados here the churches went around helping to cut down fallen trees in peoples yards. Don't blame everything on Christians. They could do more, but they do alot more than the average citizens to help people. |

If you've only lived in the South, you don't know any better, honeychile. Your part of the country seems the last holdout of ring wing lunacy, supporting everything the Republican party says. The Republican party is fast becoming ONLY the party of wingnuts and the Deep South (no difference, evidently, in terms of political views). |

That sounds like rural Kentucky having all those prisons. Louisville as a city could be described as a big work release program with all kinds of ghetto types. Let's just say I've seen more garbage here than just about anywhere as far as cities go in this region. Even Indianapolis and Cincinnati make this place look bad. Nashville, TN is actually a lot better city than Louisville. Its a toss up between Louisville, Memphis, and Birmingham as far as being the Detroit of the South. Louisville has lost so much decent industry that its a hard thing to even find a job in Louisville. So thats why a lot of people especially younger people are moving either a long ways off to say Texas or Florida or the east as well as some of the northern cities. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 13921708 United States 06/09/2012 09:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Years ago, just driving through Gary IN would turn your car black from the soot. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 0 Because of a variance, five million gallons of raw sewage is pumped into Tampa bay FL every day. The bay already has 15+ feet the sewage on the bottom. It is thought that trying to clean it up would do more damage that just leaving it there. Funny, I was going to say Gary, Indiana, too. I almost suffocated driving through there, OMG. So it's at the top of my list for un-livability, but Alabama runs a close second for collective dullness. No offense to anyone forced to live in those places. |
