Anonymous Coward User ID: 664728 New Zealand 08/16/2010 05:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most pitbulls are owned by scumbags who work to make them aggressive--even if they are just playing rough with the dog or playing tug of war. The difference between a standard poodle and a pitbull is usually the type of person who owns the dog and how the dog was raised. And a standard poodle could go all crazy and attack someone but the damage would be less. And no inflammatory article would be written about the crazed killer poodle. |

Back in the 80's near Enfield, New Hampshire, a 60 something yr. old woman was out walking and two stray pits attacked and tore her to ribbons. I happened to talk to a deputy sheriff who'd responded, and he said it was worse than any fatal car accident he'd ever responded to. The woman's guts were strewn 30 feet down the road from her body. Fuck the "inflammatory article" bullshit, Jack. The only good pitbull is a dead one. |

If a dog is vicious, look to the owner and you'll see why - irrespective of breed! |
lobp User ID: 1008841 United Kingdom 08/16/2010 06:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have several friends who have pitbulls and they are really friendly dogs. More likely to lick you to death than bite you. I think as is the case with most types of bull terriers from pitts to staffs, there is a direct correlation between the temperament of the dog, and the temperament of the owner. Sadly most people who buy these sorts of dogs tend to be idiots who think their dog is a fashion accessory and something that will give them street credit. They bring the dogs up to be aggressive so they can show off to the other idiots they hang around with. Why don't presidents fight the war? |

It's what makes me angry. they are the ones breeding them to be fighting dogs. Since the invasion of illegal mexican criminals and drug dealers, this has gotten far worse since those idiots love dog and rooster fights. It used to be that someone became famous because they were special. Now people are considered special just for being famous. Fame, itself, is now a moral good in this country. It's its own virtue. |

That's a fact, jack. You can throw out an many anecdotes and "statistics" as you like, but I know what I've seen - and all I've seen are bad owners, never bad dogs. |

Jessica6 User ID: 1067039 Canada 08/16/2010 06:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I find low-lifes are generally attracted to owning dogs of particular breeds - like fighting dogs. You don't see too many wannabe tough guys, trailer-trash, drug dealers or welfare types that own dachsunds or pomeranians. So it's hard to tell whether it's the dog or the owner. Our county is too poor to spend money to take them though, so they leave the pits where they are. I'd never own one.
