UtahApoc (OP) User ID: 989156 United States 09/26/2010 10:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | no man codes like this are used all the time not just for EAM Quoting: FAT MAN GO BOOMEven when training in the field for the Canadian Reserve we had to read off a code like this just to check in... just to say SNAFU yes, the do use these as part of training... but its not very often (if ever) that there have been 2 EAM's in 2 Days, and also SkyKing at the same time. Add that too the reports of "call ups" around the same time and it gets interesting. It very well could be a massive exercise... but it may not be. Remain Vigilant, and Aware |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1091693 United States 09/26/2010 05:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just came across this: Quoting: UtahApocFriday, September 24th 2010 Saturday, September 25th 2010 There was also a "SkyKing" message on Saturday as well: Read: [link to www.milaircomms.com] EAM's or Emergency Action Message. Another very important aspect of the GHFS is the transmission of EAM's. EAM's are the coded military orders or bulletins that have the highest priority. When EAM's are broadcast, ALL other users of the system are to standby. If you hear a voice giving a long series of letters phonically this is an EAM. SKYKING messages are special EAM's. These presumably could be the nuclear go/no-go codes. There was a higher than normal number of EAM's and SKYKING messages being transmitted after the attackes of 9/11/01. Urgent SKYKING messages are repeated three or four times instead of the usual two. SKYKING is a group callsign, meaning "Any this net." "Do not answer" is the standard procedure ofr self-authenticating broadcasts, meaning that recipients don't need to give away their positions or existence by challenging the orders. While tuned to any of the GHFS frequncies and hear "SKYKING SKYKING Do not answer" you can bet you're hearing a very important, highest priority, and heavily encrypted message! Since you can not decode the EAMs this could be normal exercise traffic. You don't have the AFKAG documents. The Navy has taken over post cold war "Looking Glass" airborne command post {Strategic Air Command} operations from the USAF. HF operations are a redundancy to SATCOM/VLF platforms. Don't read into it anymore than necessary and generate fear. These operations are normal to increase proficiency with LCC ballistic capability crews and support personnel. I speak from experience with seasonal exercises. Also note any claims to DEFCON changes are classified and are not available to the public and wouldn't be posted here in GLP. Talk to any amateur radio operator during the cold war era, the traffic they collected was astronomical compared to present EAM broadcasts. If something classified was taking place and coordination was being done via radio, you wouldn't even know about it with the digital spread spectrum and ultrawideband capabilities available now. - Giant Star op |
