I'm sure that they will loose .gov funds or fail some type of inspection and get heavily fined until they decide to "comply" !

Loved this from the comments section of that article:

Fact: the TSA is a Federal agency
Fact: the 4th amendment guaranteeing protection from "unreasonable searches and seizures" has never been appealed.

If "unreasonable search" does not include nude photos and/or groping of genitalia of people suspected of absolutely nothing, where exactly does that line start? anal probes?

I do have a question though - what exactly does opting out buy us? I mean, if the private security company must still comply with all TSA guidelines, how does opting opt change the current situation?

Does anyone know if this is the main airport that services Disney travelers? Who remembers that letter that was written to Disney by that CEO recently regarding he and his family not willing to travel to Disney due to the TSA's tactics? If so, how ironic--the first aiport to opt out of the TSA tryanny is the AP that brings in all the Disneyworld tourists?

Few people realize that the congressman wanting to go to the 'private' security companies, one namely Covenant, was given campaign contributions by this company, and others. Doesn't change a thing, really, because the private security companies will still have to follow TSA 'guidelines'.
