In-laws coming...HELP!

Tom and Jerry recipe

serve in
Punch Bowl

24 eggs
1/2 jigger rum
2 lb powdered sugar
1/2 jigger brandy
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 oz vanilla

To make the batter: beat egg whites stiff with electric beater. Add sugar gradually. Add cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Add in half of the eggs yolks, and blend until smooth.

In a large mug fill with 1/2 batter, 2 shots of [60% rum and 40% brandy]. Balance with boiling hot water. Stir well and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Take a mixing tumbler, and fill with ice...
Add 1 capfull of dry vermouth, and immediately dump out...
Pour in 2 jiggers of quality gin...
Immediately pour into large Martini Glass...
Add toothpick with three cocktail olives...
Serve immediately...

Now for lunch...

Gingerbread martinis- crushed gingerbread cookies for the rim of the glass (martini preferably) rocks glasses are fine too.
Mix baily's, goldschloger and buttershots - equal parts of each about 2 ozs. shake lightly over ice and strain into glass. garnish with a small candy cane.

If not you might try hot buttered rum, rum and egg nog, or peppermint patties (nom nom- peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate.)

All of these drinks are great for festive seasonal gatherings and taste like the holidays.

Make "real" eggnog....

1 liter bourbon whiskey
1 quart milk
1 quart heavy cream
1 pint Vanilla ice cream
24 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
nutmeg



Separate eggs and beat yolks until creamy. Whip sugar into yolks. Beat whites until they stand in peaks, adding 1/2 cup additional sugar, if desired. Beat yolks and bourbon together, add whites. Beat cream. Add cream and milk to mixture. Put in Pint of ice cream whole.

Add nutmeg to taste and garnish each cup with nutmeg. Makes 2 1/2 gallons.

The Caucasian.

2 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur
1 - 3 oz half-and-half
ice cubes

Pour vodka and coffee liqueur (kahlua) over ice cubes. Add desired amount of Half-and-Half.

I impress me every time.

Funny how old drinks get new names every so often. This is what used to be called a "White Russian." black russian is the same sans milk. Try ordering a brave bull or a snowshoe at a bar and the bartender will look at you as if you're from another planet.

Brave bull is tequilla and kahulla, add milk or halfnhalf for a white bull.
Snowshoe is Wild Turkey and peppermint schnapps.

I thought a Russian is made with milk and not half n half?

Just remembered this one, might be better at this time of year than the Bozo Punch, plus it's not as extensive.
Hot apple cider, with a cinnamon stick in it. We kept it in the coffee pot. Pour that in a mug and add a shot or 2 of Tuaca. Very tasty! One thing the ex-wife got right.
