The chlorine will evaporate out of the water. Also call your water company and they might be able to explain why they may have increased the chlorine content. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1216255will do, sound advice. |

Quoting: knoxvillerocksBoiling doesn't filter contaminants out of the water, it only kills micro organisms, boiling water will evaporate some of it off further concentrating the substances dissolved in the water. You need to filter it by a process such as reverse osmosis, distil it or infact filter it with something like a carbon filter. Atheist |

It comes out of the Tennessee River near downtown. Get on a boat and go up and down past UT stadium and the corrections center and look at that water. It's literally sewage water. Move up toward Blaine and Rutledge, commute, and drink the well water. It's 10000x better for you, but can be full of lime in some places. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 875582You can't be serious? I suppose you think the fluoride, chemicals, and heavy metals will disappear as well. You can distill the water but need to add beneficial minerals back into it. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed… |

BRIEF AND TO THE POINT User ID: 381742 United States 01/07/2011 10:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Drink distilled...we cook with it too... Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support! :Brieffromnativea: |

Quoting: knoxvillerocksyuck I've been on all the lakes and rivers up there, and let me tell ya; Most of them I would drink water straight out of. I went and put in downtown on the TR early one 4th of July to watch the fireworks later on and thought I would fish all day until then. Not only is there trash on every bank extending a foot into the river along the whole thing, I had to try and not hook dirty diapers. It was so disgusting I didn't stay. I left and went to Cherokee, then watched fireworks from the mountain overlook. |

The berkey, with a fluoride filter added, takes away the chlorine and most of the fluoride. If your water is like that, then it stands to reason that any water coming from the water plant will be the same. Therefore if the water people do show up at your home, they will not find anything wrong with your water. Bottom line - Buy a Berkey. |
