CONGRATULATIONS!!! I take it this is your first? Don't be scared! They may look fragile but they come out pretty tough! (We even had twins born 2 months early and they were feisty as heck!) 3 babies survived my husband and me and we had NO idea what we were doing!...STILL DON'T but they are still breathing after 10 and 8 years so we must be doing something right! hehe

Word of parenting advice...Just do your best and be sure you save up enough money for their therapy when you're done! GOOD LUCK!

Enjoy the ride, your world view will change for the better when seen through young eyes. When we were teenagers all this same horrible shit was going on and our parents admonished us for not worrying and all we cared about were concerts and MTV and magazines and shit. It's all good.

For a baby, that one is cute, the reality is that most babies are ugly, but most people are too kind to admit it.

My poor niece looks like a little monkey :S

Congratulations. When my first child was born, this is pretty much how it felt regarding the fear. Imagine standing on a 'plank' of a huge ship in the ocean, it's dark. You will stand there until the baby arrives thinking of anything and everything about what will be.

When the time comes, the plank gives way under your feet and you will fall into the cold water. There's no turning back, you swim or you drown. You'll be just fine.

Another thing that I wish someone would have done for me, that I recommend to any future father I talk with. When the baby is born, have someone bring you a cold beer. Just one bottle, or a 22 or whatever, you will know what I mean later.

Still early in the process and lots of things can go wrong ... to take care of the mom and try to keep stress away, particularly during the first three months.

My wife had three wonderful kids but before the last one she had a spontaneous abortion ... and even though she already had two children it was emotionally tough for her (even though when the body does that it is because there is some sort of damage to the fetus ... which she knew).

Just remember some women (not all) become very emotional while they are pregnant!! All those hormones suddenly dumping into their system can sometimes do strange things. If that happens just remember IT WILL PASS!

If you are ready for it (sown your wild oats etc.) there is nothing like being a Dad, except maybe being a Mom. Joy, Love that is so deep it is hard to explain, ... and yes tears.

You ride in life is just about to become a lot different, and a LOT better!!
