HAVE RESIDUAL RADIATION LEVELS ON THE US WEST COAST INCREASED SINCE LAST WEEKEND?

PEOPLE! We have a grave crisis of radiation spreading from the Fuk nuke plant Eastward. Why, exactly, is there no interest in gieger counter readings across the US West Coast on GLP at this time? Where can reliable US West coast gieger counter readings be located on the internet?

Its been a week since the first reported radiation was reported on the East Coast due to the Fuk Nuke Plant. What has happened in the past 7 days with radiation on the US West Coast?

Don't know about an increase, but recent radiation detections have now been determined to be from radioactive iodine in San Diego.

Dosimeter readings in central oregon. Also a nukealert stationed in Portland is not chirping at all. (It chirps at 0.1 Rads an hour so it is lower then that.

As for the EPA site, I have only been able to get a message stating "Levels redorded are thousands of times lower than what would be considered harmful". EXCEPT THAT, they now admit that several of their gauges have been malfunctioning throughout the Japan debacle, so unreliable at best, purposely hiding info at worst.

And then there's RADNET, www.radiationnetwork.com, which has been showing no fluctuations above about 30 cpm, which for some reason looks completely bogus to me. I don't trust this site as much as the one where I can see the counter myself.

The only site that looks legit is the one showing the measurements on screen, and it says the levels are beginning to climb from usually 42-60, to now above 70's at times.

Does anyone else on West Coast have their own counter they could post data from?

We cant get a straight answer out of the EPA. The readings they are giving are cryptic and no regular person can understand what they mean. And now they are saying that 18 (was 22), of the monitoring stations arent and have not been working properly. I have emailed them, called them, and get no reply.

I have a very precious 4yr old grandson and every time I even think about him out playing in the radiation, breathing it in, touching it....I come unglued. And IF we are getting levels that are unsafe,we could at least protect his thyroid from the Iodide. But most people aren't taking this seriously so w/o solid info from our lovely gov't officials....we are fuct.

The human body absorbs iodine right away, so no matter what the dose is, even if it is so tiny one cant measure it, the body will absord it in the thyroid right away if one has a iodine deficiency.
So the article was very tricky and plays on words and is basically false. The radiation from the amount of radioactive iodine is harmless, but what happens when your thryoid absorbs it becomes deadly. It is not harmless.

I have been eating miso soup, eating kelp, and using iodine in the form of tincture to make sure I did not have a iodine deficiency. I started one week before the accident in Japan. My soul told me to.

So what does kelp taste like?...and please dont say chicken

I have a few different kinds of kelp. Some tastes very fishy. Others have no taste whatsoever. I actually like eating it. I also use a salt that comes from a very old seabed in the mountains of Germany, and it is very high in natural iodine. That is delicious.

Anyone know how many days we can receive and absorb radioactive iodine into our thyroids before it accumulates to a harmful level? I have kids, too, and am afraid to let them play out in the yard.
