Re: Want to be poor your whole life? Be nice
To be nice and to break out of that system. Hm. Be nice means nothing in specific. Being nice and making under the hand of all unnette things. It's a runner.

It doesn't mean be veracious or integrity. Give some attention for the place but it is no obligation. The way we spend attention could be the key to handle the problem.

Be nice and be quiet. Give me your attention and do not ask any question. Be nice and do even more for me. Show me that I am correct. Say yes to me. Be nice and submit to my will then you'll see the gifts are ready. You will get back at least an endorsment that pays for your attention. Promised.

Therefore be not nice and do not submit under aliens will is the first thing that an intact dignity tries to carry out for not get that dependent.

The success here seems to rely how strong you are. How many can you take it on your way that tries exactly to become a profiteer of this situation. To make you paying attention to them.

Here comes the most uneveness into the play. A solid family background seems to help here a lot to stand against dubious temptations.

There is no panacea. You do not escape from the constant pain to judge to whom you pass your attention. With your own degree. Espescially when it comes to breakings.

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.

It is the LOVE of money that has lead to the practices that are 'acceptable business' in our modern society.

The LOVE of material wealth (stuff) is also bad for you, it always comes with strings and you are never fully satisfied, and in order to keep getting some satisfaction one needs to acquire more loot.

Money is a tool, it has been badly abused, but it is a useful tool.

Stuff is good, to a point, but all things in moderation.

One can be comfortable in their life and still retain their integrity.

No one needs to live in a 5 bedroom house, no one needs 3.5 vehicles, no one needs a TV in every room, no one needs an Iphone/Pad thingy along with a computer and an x-box and a....

One can live comfortably with a two bedroom house, with a (singular) TV in the living room, with a proper phone and one (a) computer.

Its the choices to have it all and as much of it as possible that has lead to a society that is drunk on material possessions which leads to these dishonest, mean, practices.

Re: Want to be poor your whole life? Be nice
I wanted to add to my earlier posts OP.

Whatever may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remains that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich.

We cannot rise to our greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless we have plenty of money. In order to unfold the soul and to develop talent we must have many things to use, and we cannot have these things unless we
have money to buy them with.

People develop in mind, soul, and body by making use of things, and society is so organized that people must have money in order to become the possessor of things.

The object of all life is development. Everything that lives has an inalienable right to all the development it is capable of attaining.

Each of us has a right to life. This means the right to have the free and unrestricted use of all the things that may be necessary to our fullest mental, spiritual and physical unfolding — in other words, our right to be rich.

NOW...back to how to achieve all that you want and desire. Do you after reading the majority of posts think that being greedy, dishonest, disloyal or competitive is necessarily the best way to not only achieve your goals and aspirations but to KEEP your amassed wealth as well?

Re: Want to be poor your whole life? Be nice
What is integrity and why is it so important to long term wealth?

Integrity is about being honest with others and adhering to high moral standards. It is also about doing what you say you will do.

When you act with integrity, your customers, colleagues and staff will place their trust in you. They know that you mean what you say and that you will not let them down.

They know that you will give them the best quality for their money and they know that you will not cheat them.

We have all heard the phrase ‘A man is nothing without his word’ and that is 100% true! Integrity is the essence of everything. In everything that you do, act with integrity.

When you are able to keep your word and deliver on your promise, people can trust you and your business. And trust builds long lasting relationships.

It is evident almost everywhere, between old friends, married couples, business partners, etc, all those successful relationships are all build on a very strong bond of trust.

In a world where so many people are unethical and dishonest, build your reputation on integrity and you will have an endless supply of customers, suppliers, investors and business partners.

Over the years, think about those that have approached you to enter into an agreement, be it business or whatever. I know I can list quite a few that I have turned down (many of them, no matter how great the opportunities to make money seemed to be. I can not and will not put myself at risk of personal or financial loss due to working with someone or being in ANY relationship where I know they are not honest, loyal or have in general: INTEGRITY.

Remember that it takes a lifetime to build some things and only a second to lose, so always act with integrity, treasure it and you will possess one of the greatest strengths of all.

Every peacefull people got wiped out by evil people. The most known victim is Jesus Christ. The more you have his heart the closer you are to be abused. And your abuser will say that this is what you want.
But also the greatest pain is that we want love without force and when giving someone free will they might dont chose us. Are you ready to be nice when this means pain? You must be born twice and the evil in us fights to survive. MAELI -[] faith in God.

It's not that I am expecting to be rich, I just want to be comfortable enough financially to not ever have to rely on others for my own wants/needs. I have a family to look after and want things for them, yet it seems as though the system is designed to give just enough for the common folks to be comfy, but never really get ahead far enough to be self reliant.

I want to break out of that system is all yet it seems that the goal posts are forever moving away just as I get close.

I can't help but feel like there is no way to get ahead in life unless you are taking advantage of someone else in some way. The system is so foul and corrupt that it's almost as if you do things honorably and with integrity, you get nothing but walked on. If you are willing to compromise your principles, and financially curbstomp people's faces however you can in business, you will be rewarded with great riches.

I really don't understand the world anymore these days. The whole work hard, be nice, honor, integrity thing gets you nowhere but screwed anymore. I'm starting to lose hope.

Is anyone else feeling like this?
 Quoting: Silkstalkings

you are spot-on, although I would never lose hope, because without hope we are nothing.

I have keep my honour, integrity and never stepped on anyone...I lost out financially by doing this but don't regret it.
However when society rewards bad people for doing bad things, that society is in it's final days imo.

I have never felt like I belonged in the UK, but did n't realise why until a few years ago. It was after we moved to France for a year.
We spent a long holiday in Slovakia and realised just how nice people can be. I think it's primarily a UK/US thing, but pockets also exist in other european countries.

Whatever you want to believe.

I've been self-employed for 10 years, and I never cheat an employee or customer.... even to my own disadvantage.

Not one customer or ex-employee could or would say I delt them anything but fair. That's being nice in my book.

And I'm not poor.

The material world is not all there is. . .
I try to be honest in all dealings.

So I can sleep well at night, and so no one can say I favored A over B, or whatever the situation might be.

Remember whom you owe an accounting to: God, not man.

It is according to what you consider poor. I don't want to be rich, I never have. Being rich has to many problems that come with it.

I would rather be rich in my spirit and love of God and his Son Jesus the Christ. I have love for my follow man, some I just do like because of their bad actions, but I pray for them.

Yes, our focused thoughts bring us all sorts of things. So we must keep our thoughts positive which is pretty hard for most people seeing how we live in such a negative world. But it is possible and takes practice and work. People should focus on one good thought each day and then see what happens.

I have known many wealthy people with integrity. If you constantly value others higher than yourself and give away what you have, you won't get ahead but you can value others as equals and take care of yourself as we'll. I believe you need self esteem to succeed, but you don't need to take advantage of others.

How could people not love it ? When money brings safety and security and that is what people want. People are scared of being on the streets so the more money they have the further they feel they will be from them. So in that sense yes money does encourage the love of it. There is no way around it. The more money you have the safer one feels. It is a known fact. People want safety and security.

dont pay the rent and watch what happens. Have lots of money to pay the rent and the streets are far away in the mind. Therefore there is peace of mind. And peace of mind people yearn for. Money seems the easiest way to get peace of mind. Or so it seems. LOL

Known it for many years. A casual glance of the mansions of today and those driving the hummers shows some pretty vile creatures. A calculator shows how many one must abuse and lie to to sustain this sort of wealth.

One must learn however that they can not be nice to all because it is seen as a weakness and the vultures line up.
