Proton Storms...Magnetically Connected to Earth by a special location on the sun?? UPDATED | |
<<LOOK`n thru YOU>> (OP) User ID: 922574 United States 05/10/2011 10:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www2.nict.go.jp] The magnetosphere is taking a big hit right now...caused by what I don`t know because there has only really been on good CME in the last few days and it happened late yesterday..The particles should not be here yet unless the particles that shot off the western limb (like in the artical above) already got here.. Click on the movie LASCO2....it clearly shows the blast generated particles of the western limb also [link to www.solarham.com] Last Edited by <<LOOK`n thru YOU>> on 05/10/2011 10:33 AM |

<<LOOK`n thru YOU>> (OP) User ID: 922574 United States 05/10/2011 10:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is something strange going on with this hit we are taking now...Nothing has happened that WE ARE aware of that should have caused this..unless it is a cover up of some sorts... It looks like it`s peaked already..which is simular to a big flare`s initial blast...BUT there have been no recorded blast on the flux tables..still digging for info |

When the explosion occurred, sunspot 720 was located at a special place on the sun: 60o west longitude. This means "the sunspot was magnetically connected to Earth."---> Link for this in first post This is my only guess right now...There was some particles from the last blast yesterday that flew out the west side |

Remember the backside cme that spun around and connected with us, about two months ago? They even admitted that the area was magnetically connected to Earth. The Parker Spiral. <<LOOK`n thru YOU>> (OP) User ID: 922574 United States 05/10/2011 12:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He explains: The sun's magnetic field spirals out into the solar system like water from a lawn sprinkler. (Why? The sun spins like a lawn sprinkler does.) The magnetic field emerging from solar longitude 60o W bends around and intersects Earth. Protons are guided by magnetic force fields so, on January 20th, there was a superhighway for protons leading all the way from sunspot 720 to our planet. [link to science.nasa.gov] I missed this the first time I read the article...The "Superhighway"....something to keep in mind..now we need to find a map of the sun and see where 60o degrees west is...so WE know anything that comes through that area would be worth watching...can`t believe nobody here has heard of this before or discussed it.. Like this I rekon...There is that spiral again... [link to iswa.gsfc.nasa.gov:8080] Last Edited by <<LOOK`n thru YOU>> on 05/10/2011 12:49 PM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1318005 United States 05/10/2011 01:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You might find these interesting: The Sun is currently behaving unexpectedly in a number of ways.[119][120] * It is in the midst of an unusual sunspot minimum, lasting far longer and with a higher percentage of spotless days than normal; since May 2008. * It is measurably dimming; its output has dropped 0.02% at visible wavelengths and 6% at EUV wavelengths in comparison with the levels at the last solar minimum.[121] * Over the last two decades, the solar wind's speed has dropped by 3%, its temperature by 13%, and its density by 20%.[122] * Its magnetic field is at less than half strength compared to the minimum of 22 years ago. The entire heliosphere, which fills the Solar System, has shrunk as a result, resulting in an increase in the level of cosmic radiation striking the Earth and its atmosphere. Quoting: SickScentThat's what I thought also, I did find the fact that Nasa recalculated the Max to 2012/2013 pretty interesting. I suspect what we are seeing now, is the Sun's poles flipping, normal and happens every Max, and my theory is, this allows random spots to occur out of the normal lats they are usually in around 19 to 20th latitudes. I noticed about two or three months ago, that the north pole was shrinking, indicating a weakened field. Sorry Looking, not trying to hyjack the thread. |
