How much does pizza delivery people make? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 29140237 United States 12/05/2012 11:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know! If you work 60 hours a week you can scrape out enough money to feed and house a family of 3. This includes cable TV and some party stuff. So at the most we are talking about 24K. Quoting: murat 1334974You can make 24K delivery pizza? yes you can make 24,000.... and then subtract your investment. customers don't realize they are responsible for compensating the driver for use of their vehicle. 80% of the mileage on my car is used delivering pizza. therefore, 80% of the cost of my vehicle and 80% of all repairs and maintenance need to come back to me in tips. that's thousands of dollars a year. when i don't get tipped, even when compensated for gas by the company, i am paying money out of my own pocket for lazy assholes to get food. i can't really recommend it. it's ok. but i do not make near the amount of money that i SHOULD be making. especially comparatively to similar jobs such as UPS drivers and USPS drivers.... ~$15-$21hr and i make ~$10-$14/hr with my subtracted investments. but then that's not including risk to my vehicle's safety and my safety... i've hit deer while working... i've had accidents while delivering in blizzard's and all-around shitty road conditions/ severe storms ) anyways, i recommend being a waitress/waiter or a bartender over being a delivery driver. they make more money and their job doesn't cost them money or put their lives in danger. fuck, i hate bartenders. $20+ an hour for filling fucking glasses with fucking liquid and walking a few feet. and they ignore me for giving them a FAIR tip of $0.25 per glass. fair? hell, it's fucking GENEROUS. dicks Having delivered pizza for about 9 years, I agree with everything you said. The personal safety is moot, your vehicle goes to shit, and you do get stiffs that truly set you back. However, the tip money is great for immediate expenses. Plus, as long as you work for an employer, you can get mileage back at tax time. I also work in a state that has rare courier laws to where I get paid the same 7.25 in or out of store. Lastly, as luck would have it- people around here are somewhat civilized. |

geminilion User ID: 12895036 United States 12/05/2012 01:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am not sure but I will tell you that it irks me that the delivery charges that Dominoe's (icky pizza) doesn't go to the delivery person. Quoting: geminilion So if they charge $2.00 for delivery they keep it and you have to tip the delivery guy on top of that...let's say at least a buck (depends) I think the driver should keep or at least get half of delivery charge....I don't know why they don't. It is 2012 , does 3 bucks even pay for gas to drive to your house ? bet you get extra toppings like boogers , earwax , dingeberries and extra phlegm in the sauce . I am a good tipper..though I haven't had the luxury of ordering food for delivery in a while. You proved my point...if 3 bucks doesn't pay for gas for a delivery the franchise owner keeps the delivery charge, I just wanted to know why they do that. Dingleberries are my favorite by the way. ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the light of day. EugeneOregonAwakened User ID: 4123634 United States 12/05/2012 02:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is no gas allowance. You pay for your gas and not everyone tips, especially black people. They even demand change--to the cent. This is from personal experience. Do not even consider it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1376666 I WAS A DRIvER TOO and this is a LIE< They give you a flat rate for every delivery, usually one to two dollars, this is to pay for gas. and for car wear-and-tear, and yeah its not the best job, but it beats the hell outta alotta stuff i have done. You make minimum, but expect around thirty to fifty in tips every shift. Do You Guys Believe SevenOfNine and Chokotay Hook Up? Where Did That Come From? |
