Why the different depths? That's been happening a lot lately.

Poorly constrained. They need to be analyzed from different stations to find a correct, median depth and mag.

Sometimes the stations can't get an entirely accurate reading and we end up with this :(

Thanks OT, I knew they used different stations to analyze the quakes, but didn't realize the input would vary so much. That may be why it takes them so long to report the quakes too.:(

The NSF has funded one of the colleges to create an effective information assimilation system for the professionals, they have been working on it for well over a year now, hopefully it will become a reality soon.

2curious, a regular here, lives in Chile which experiences quakes quite often. I don't know exactly where, but with a quake of that size even though it was deep. Well, you know... It's my nature to be concerned for others.
