Magnetic monopoles, really.

Every universe (or dimension) is defined by its minimum and maximum temperature. Thus, the doorway to the higher dimension is going higher than this maximum temperature, and the doorway to the lower dimension is going lower than this minimum temperature (also known as absolute zero).

The north and south pole of magnets are really doorways to the higher and lower dimensions, and heat energy from the higher dimension is simply passing through the magnet to enter the lower dimension. So the total net energy entering our universe through magnets is still zero.

However, if magnetic monopoles are created, then we either introduce new energy from the higher dimension to our universe, or we lose some of our existing energy to the lower dimension.

Thus, what the LHC is doing by trying to achieve the high temperatures during the Big Bang, is really opening a portal to the higher dimension, which lets in heat energy from that dimension to our universe.

On the other hand, if temperatures lower than the absolute zero is achieved, heat energy from our universe will be lost to the dimension lower than ours.
