God damn you, Texas Workforce Commission
In brief, I am on unemployment, and have not nearly reached exhausting the "99 week of benefits" statue.

I receive this pice of correspondence indicating I qualify for receiving EUC - Emergency Unemployment Compensation - very good, moving. I request payment for my two weeks, make sure it deposits, and I log back into search for employment in my area.

I login the following day, and this "you are ineligible to receive benefits" text appears on my man home page after they just approved EUC.....What the hell is this contradiction!?

I wait one week to receive the letter explaining themselves, and all it reads is I was denied EUC, because I have not exhausted all my regular unemployment benefits........when the system automatically determined that for me!

I now "qualify for regular employment benefits" - when that is exhausted, I can move onto EUC if need be.

What the hell is going on?! This I request, and I wake up to see nothing is deposited!

Then I cant contact TWC at 7Am in God damned central Texas time, and their automated phones tell me they cannot answer because of the call volume.

What abysmal nonsense! Thank God I have some online ventures to keep me from starving, and perishing - already depleted my emergency supplies.

Re: God damn you, Texas Workforce Commission
There must be a few individuals here experiencing similar, or identical occurrence with Texas Workforce Commission - anyone at all, please care to share their personal view on the matter?

It has been 30 minutes since they opened, I have dialed at least 46 times on skype, and it is the same message.

I was researching some more threads here on GLP, and a few posts indicated this was common, and that you must continue to dial until you get through.

The prospects of homelessness has come, I suppose. The lure of applying for food stamps is becoming difficult to resist.

I even jurry-rigged my old WiFi adapter to be able to maintain a stable signal for my apartment's free wifi access.

And this is the same group of fiends that exposed 3.5 millions of its citizen's Social security numbers a few months ago.....redfaceburnit

I'm attempting to correspond with individuals from Texas online, but I can't locate a central nexus of where they gather online.

The only repository of decent information is this forum:

[link to www.unemployed-friends2.org]

If you quickly examine the Texas sub-section of the forums, there has been no activity since April. Other aspects of the forums are active, though - little relevant information to my circumstances.

I no longer have a vehicle, or I most certainly would have visited them in person. The nearest location is too far to walk on foot, I would have walked, and those around have family crisis of their own.

Tired of discerning through this, had it with having to ration all my supplies, and drinking facet water - repulsed at the notion of continuing to request this....government assistance after maintaining a steady livelihood.

And the food stamps...they have a new title now, that even grieves me that I may have to resort to that...if I wish to live, otherwise, there is the prospect of simply letting go, and dying in my sleep here on the living room floor.

So tired, so tired of cliches, and the worst has not even begin for this world.

What on Earth?

I verified my residential address several times through the course of last year, and this year. Even verifying information through Workintexas.com, and what have you.

On the letter you received, did the letter instruct you to contact them immediately? Because mine does not....yeahsure Nothing has changed. Still can't through as well.

Forgive the nature of my typing, I haven't slept, and am hardly cognizant of my intellect, let alone GLP.

Quite the height of hubris, and presumptions on your part. Would you not venture to conjecture that I would acquire employment in my area if it were available? Even the Wal-marts are not hiring!

If I so desired, I could become a tenured Professor of ancient history, seeing as that is impossible for my personal circumstances, which are no one's business, I am left with what I can make do with.

If you question the authenticity of online ventures such as internet marketing, and the like, you have not researched the subject matter.

In addition to seeking employment of any kind, I put in an honest day's work, and expect compensation in kind, no matter if it is a corner gas station. And no, there are no jobs available - at all. Visit the HEB area for yourself.

Had you read my post with care, you'd discern that I already applied, and was not selected for an interview.

Area is not teaming with jobs at all. It's bloody dead.redface

Good luck to a fellow Texan. Sorry you are so frustrated, but I am hopefull this will end well. You seem to be somewhat intellegent and hard working.

The TWC, on the business side, if fairly easy to work with. When we have a position to fill, they usually send A LOT of applicants our way, but sadly, few show up. Point is, if they can arrange an interview, you are well served to go!

cheers

ive had a few run ins with them.......

i cleared out for a job on a saturday, and then out of the blue they said they was stopping my time a 2:00 and i was to report to the shop.

was able to get ahold of the hall and was told to appear there instead and they would call and see what was up.

got fired for not showing up.

one of my brothers got his unemployment reinstated after the whole ordeal,

however i did not.

b.s all around!

when you call, i'll give ya a hint. no one ever gets through. your call will be answered in the order it was recieved........

in another words, call the number and wait forever on the phone till you get re-directed.......

that can take an hour but its the only way you will get through.
Christians have had to face and realize their own sins, and feel compelled to try and help others as well.

This chant of Holier than thou is wrong and is taught by others making you think what is cool or acceptable to them.

The thought of "believe as i do" is strongly in an unbelievers life, because they feel they will be ridiculed by their friends.

Every falsehood a unbeliver weilds, is merely a reflection of the obstacles that unbeliever must face from his very own peers.

Unbelievers are the true followers, they are dedicated to fear of what other people think of them.

And because of this, they are ashamed of themselves, but wall themselves up to feel comfortable and safe, assuring themselves with rationality and laughter.

Which is insanity!

UPDATE:
Thank you to this fellow poster for giving me the benefit of the doubt.

After I spoke with the young woman (TWC) and exchanging professional cordiality, she promptly looked into the matter for me.

As I suspected, their system does not auto update when a claim expires, and shifts under the classification of " Emergency Unemployment compensation" - she put me on hold to correct the discrepancy, and allow the system to release payment to me.

I was surprised at her sighing, not at me, but the situation, she explained that there were hundreds of others, sir, that are having the same problem. I told her to take her time.

After about 10 minutes, she informed me all was in order, and that in two business days, my payment will be released.

Thanked her for her time & dignity, and disconnected.

Walked to my workstation, logged into TWC, and everything has been corrected. I'm grateful for this; it gives me ample time to secure any means of employment at this point.

Provided a position opens for me. For now, online ventures will have to do to add a meager spare stream of income for non-nutritionally deficient foods.

Thank you once again, anonymous poster! Put an old man at ease for once in his existence.

I've been on EUC for a few weeks and I've just received the same letter you got i.e. saying my EUC benefit cannot be paid because I may qualify for regular unemployment insurance. This cannot possibly be so as I have not worked in nearly a year.

Unlike you I am in the middle of my claim so everything must has switched over as it should have so I wonder what other glitch in their system is robbing me. I received the letter at the weekend (of course) which means I can't do anything until Monday and then I have the trial of trying to get to speak to someone in the telecenter on a Monday. Need I say more. It's stressful enough being unemployed and short of cash I don't need this BS too :(

Dear, go apply for food stamps and whatever assistance they will give you. Don't be proud and wait. Do it while you still have a home to live in.
