You have to know the mom's DNA in order to check to see if the remainder of the child's DNA belongs to the father being tested. So, you have to have a sample of mom's DNA, whether she willingly gives it or not.

UPDATE, looked up the one I used, GTL labs and it can be done with just Father and Child. So I was correct.

One good thing about it is that even though it doesn't hold up in court, at least you KNOW. That way, you know if it's worth doing the whole court thing or not, which would cost a LOT MORE money, just to find out the kid isn't yours.

Not sure about other states, but here in Oklahoma, the burdon of proof is on the father. WOman sues for child support, and the guy says it isn't his child? judge says "prove it" and the man has to pay for the court-approved DNA test.

It amazes me how many women pull this shit on people. My goodness. Talk about turning someone's life upside down.

Yup same way in Texas too I had to pay 600 dollars for court ordered dna test but I already knew he wasn't myne and she had to pay me the 600 back. I think oklahomas the same way but not sure

I'm all for this. My 3rd son is not my Ex's, and not only did he grow up knowing this, so did his siblings and my ex as well. It's only right. Why in the HELL would I put my son through even MORE crap, when my actions were enough already! He grew up knowing his 'dad' was not bio, and still his 'dad' was the man that raised him, and loved him. If he ever wants to get to know his bio dad, he certainly has that right. He is 18, and so far has had no real questions about his 'bio' dad. That's up to him. I've done enough damage. But, I never lied to anyone about it. Never.

If the woman chooses to have a abortion, your right as the father to prevent the procedure is null. If the father chooses not to be responsible he can not. It is a double standard.

It takes two to make a child [ with exceptions to modern science ] so both parents should have equal say. Ultimately the decision should fall to life and the resulting child be adopted by a barren screened male and female married couple not a homosexual couple. Every child by nature should have a loving mother and father.
