If Texas left the Union and seceded, would you stay in your state.. or move to Texas?

Since I live in Texas now, I would just stay put and enjoy being separate from the cesspool known as the U.S.

I just watched this again on Netflix GO TEXAS!!!!! I would go to TX right now if i had a good job lined up.My three best friends in my life were all from TX.The best barbecue comes from TX.I have seen some gorgeous girls like TX gal while visiting.

Ha, I would support such a move for texas, besides getting rid of a significant proportion of the mouth-breathers in this country, it could help our national debt issue quite a bit since texas is the #1 in the nation for recieving federal government money. For every dollar payed by texans in federal income taxes, the state recieves $1.36 back in benefits and funding from the feds. In fact, all the "red" states recieve more in federal spending than the "blue" states. It's funny how conservatives like to wail and rage about the Nanny State, all the while being some of the worse offenders when it comes to feeding at the government trough.

There is no divorcing yourself from the federal government. It aint going to happen. And even if it were to happen it would quickly degenerate into civil war.
Texas is a drought ridden over populated shit hole of a state anyway. If you people like Texas that's all fine and dandy but I wouldn't move there if someone were to pay all expenses. Northern Montana for me, thank you.

1. You would need a passport to enter the country of "Texas" and I guarantee you 'border checkpoints' would be established on this side to arrest/imprison anyone trying to do so without one.
2. The State Department would have to establish diplomatic relations with the new country before that passport is issued.
3. You can be sure the U.S. would drag its feet for YEARS before doing so as punishment.
4. It might be years before anyone could enter or leave without legal authority, unless traveling into Mexico first.
5. Even if you take the roundabout route, crossing into the United States would make you an illegal alien without a Texas passport recognized by the United States. Now there would normally be no problem with that but since most doing so would be white instead of brown...
6. Products/replacement parts(food, cars, fuel, electronics, clothing, etc) going into or coming out could be blocked at the border by U.S. customs agents. (Like trying to get Cuban cigars out of Canada.)
7. Since the new country of Texas has oil, I would assume it would not be long before paid agents would start protests and riots to demand a return to the United States. Shortly after that come the drone attacks and bombing runs on Austin in support of the "new patriots trying to restore the Republic".
And so on...
