after death??? BRAIN OR SOUL?

I will quote a part of one book i just recommended that illustrate the problem very well...


"The proof demanded is akin to that asked of the blind man, who demands "The Other Side" proof of scarlet or any other color of the article; or like that asked by the deaf man, who demands proof of the existence of harmony in music. From the very nature of things, the proof cannot be afforded in such case. Imagine the attempt to explain the sensation of the taste of sugar to one who had never experienced the taste of anything sweet. How and where could one begin? How, and where could one proceed?"

the book was a suggestion.. This my Friend is hope.. You have heard of the eternal life Offered by Jesus Christ? This is Hope.. What you speak of ends.. What He spoke of has no end.. Now how much is requierd.. to go on forever.. Just Believe.. Repent.. ask Jesus to Help you in this Life.. and He will see to it You will begin again.. By name.. You.. its personal.. this black you speak of.. you dont really want that do you? Faith.. in what you cannot see.. But when you ask Him to help.. you will feel it.. and in little time you can step back.. and almost pinpoint where you began Togeather.. thats a Aha moment to be sure..

but i am too logical to beleive in a soul. science completely discribes how your brain developes a consciousness. its not something misterios that we cant see. we cant cut you open and take out your soul. i am only conserned about what is. and not what i want there to be.rather i use what is and understand it, to create what i want.

i tend not to make up something to discribe something hard to explain, but look toward science to enlighten my questions that my brain has developed

Sadly I am afraid on this part science has a really long way to go.

i really hope there comes a point when spirituality(god) and science meet...

Ohhhh, if only you knew how many times I've faced death. Crossed that road long ago. Made my peace, but still got stuck here another 12 years so far. haha. Hey, don't kick me out or anything, not trying to complain.

No, dream on, things are not that simple.

There is waaaay too much information in each
one of our heads that "does not belong there",
or at least it's not from this lifetime.


And it's not our subconscious either.


This is manifested in many ways, i.e. dreams, visions,
moments of clarity, foreign memories/dreams specially
when we were children, premonitions, etc.


My point is that what makes us "us" is much more
than just our brain as a biological/analytical HDD.

what do you think is happening inside your brain? what is its purpus if it doesnt give you consciousness?
and have you ever looked into neuroscience?

The best logical proof that could explain life after death are "the genius".

They are no different than us, yet they know stuff on their field more than the common people could ever dream of.

If you take the hypothesis that you retrieve your old knowledge accumulated over thousands of lifetimes and from the other sides by simple intuition in your current incarnation; Then you got a pretty good explanation and possible proof of the survival of the soul.

There are no genius, only hard workers :)

and just becuase im a little iliterate doesnt mean that i dont understand what these words mean.
what does it trully mean to understand something? is it to put it into words.
say...i love some one but then you say "proove it put it into words!" would you do so by writing a poem or something? and say convince you.then you say "alright you really do love this person" but if i wasnt a literary genius would that mean that i dont actually love her? of course not! people will beleive what ever they are convinced. otherwize there wouldnt be any opinions

Accepting the existence of the soul is not merely a matter of faith. Bhagavad-gita appeals to the evidence of our senses and logic, so we may accept its teachings with some degree of rational conviction and not blindly, as dogma.

It is impossible to understand reincarnation unless one knows the difference between the actual self (the soul) and the body. The Gita helps us see the nature of the soul by the following example. "As the sun alone illuminates all this universe, so does the living entity, one within the body, illuminate the entire body by consciousness."

Consciousness is concrete evidence of the presence of the soul within the body. On a cloudy day, the sun may not be visible, but we know it is there in the sky by the presence of sunlight. Similarly, we may not be able to directly perceive the soul, but we may conclude it is there by the presence of consciousness. In the absence of consciousness, the body is simply a lump of dead matter. Only the presence of consciousness makes thi! lump of dead matter breathe, speak, love, and fear. In essence, the body is a vehicle for the soul, through which it may fulfill its myriad material desires. The Gita explains that the living entity within the body is "seated as on a machine made of the material energy." The soul falsely identifies with the body, carrying its different conceptions of life from one body to another as the air carries aromas. Just as an automobile cannot function without the presence of a driver, similarly, the material body cannot function without the presence of the soul.

As one grows older, this distinction between the conscious self and the physical body becomes more obvious. Within his lifetime a person can observe that his body is constantly changing. It does not endure, and time proves the child ephemeral. The body comes into existence at a certain time, grows, matures, produces by-products (children), and gradually dwindles and dies. The physical body is thus unreal, for it will, in due time, disappear. As the Gita explains, "Of the nonexistent there is no endurance." But despite all the changes of the material body, consciousness, a symptom of the soul within, remains unchanged. ("Of the eternal there is no change.") Therefore, we may logically conclude that consciousness possesses an innate quality of permanence that enables it to survive the dissolution of the body. Krishna tells Arjuna, "For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time.... He is not slain when the body is slain."

But if the soul is "not slain when the body is slain," then what becomes of it? The answer given in the Bhagavad-gita is that the soul enters another body. This is reincarnation. This concept may be diffcult for some people to accept, but it is a natural phenomenon, and the Gita gives logical examples to aid our understanding: "As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change."

In other words, man reincarnates even in the course of one lifetime. Any biologist will tell you that the body's cells are constantly dying and being replaced by new ones. In other words, each of us has a number of "different" bodies in this very life. The body of an adult is completely different from the body the same person had as an infant. Yet despite bodily changes, the person within remains the same. Something similar happens at the time of death. The self undergoes a final change of body. The Gita says, "As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones." Thus the soul remains entrapped in an endless cycle of births and deaths. "One who has taken his birth is sure to die, and after death one is sure to take birth again," the Lord tells Arjuna.
