Claiming religion gets them out of their cells more often, this is why there are so many christians and Muslims in prison. I know 2 atheists personally who claim to be christians the minute they go back to prison.

1) many, many of those christians are just nominally christians who have checked a box because they grew up in nominally christian homes. This does not mean they believe in God or give a shit about the bible or church. They are not basing these statistics on belief in God or church or scriptural rules.
2) if you are religious, you stand a better chance of getting parole, period. It's foolish from a practical standpoint to say you are an atheist.
3) There aren't that many atheists.

So the use of this statistic shows shallow and not very rational thinking.

Besides all the atheists I know are criminals, they just didn't get caught. Besides the 1% i doubt that one, over here like 25% are atheist and 70% are muslims in prison, other groups make up the 5%.

That's some effectivity, the religions don't even come close, though catholicism (paganism) is trailing with around 50-60 million but that is over at least 1200 years, and muslims rake in something like that too and that over 1400 years.

Third your 75% figure is complete crap. First there really is no way of knowing that since the prison population is not polled on their religion.

Before you start trying to push your idiotic hatred maybe you should be able to back it up with facts first. From the looks of the study above your atheists actually fell into the 19% category.

And the study also found that most of the people in prison are recruited or convert to a religion while in jail so again your numbers still mean nothing about the criminals state of mind when they committed the crime.

Jails are filled with non believers who "convert" so that they can look like they have repented to the parole boards.

What percentage of prisoners converted to Christianity while in prison? There are many Christian prison ministries out there, so I guess the survey shows they are working. As for athiesm, it is one of the most ridiculous organized religion out there. Their theories have so much flaws, yet thousands believe it. They have no moral standards because if there is no God, who is to say something is wrong. That's why we have had such evil men, like Stalin, which was an atheist. Under his dictatorship, my great grandfather was taken from his home back in Russia, put in a labor camp, and then shot, all because he was a Christian. My parents were treated unfair in Russian public schools, and teachers even hurt them for being Christian. Mocking them, calling them stupid Baptists (they were Baptists) and other evil things. That's what atheism is. You might say there are evil Christians too. I would agree. But we Christians have a moral code, the Bible, which I can open up and show him/her that what they do is wrong. What do atheists have? Nothing. There is no right or wrong because there is no God. So atheism is more prone to do evil, and to be honest, it takes a lot more faith to be an atheist then to be a Christian. Peace. :)

Actually normally atheists are rednecks and very unintelligent people. The only smart atheists, like Stephen Hawking, say there is no life after death even though their own science confirms that energy can not be destroyed. It just changes forms.
