this aint news
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1285189

Well when you fight a country and kick its ass you get to put a base there brainchild. Hence why the US has bases everywhere....

This is more Obama selling us out. Yes if true- big time news!

If it is true...and the Nipponese have a battalion strength base "to guard their automotive plant"...that excuse is the most insulting excuse in the face of all Americans....but then again, we are tolerating the presence of foreign troops in our land!

GM's Saturn plant had no garrison around it. Nor does the Smyrna Nissan Plant...guess because TN citizens are soooo heavily armed no one plans on attacing Saturn or Nissan...

The other 49 states best buy a clue from TN.

that would be my thought..if it dont sink itll be too radioactive to live on...

id gladly accept Japanese people here..and integrate them in our armed services...but a base next to Honda plant..hmmm i know theyre trying to get that plant there forever and others like it near Dayton area...i worked as a temp making molds for the plasma tvs etc made in one plant there...perhaps Japan is making Dayton their new home? If anyone has ever been to Dayton u know 80% of houses are boarded up and taken over by city/county due to high drug/gang foreclosures and seizures since the 80s and 90s...trust me plenty of housing for Japanese people to move in future if not happening already. Sort of reminds you of Detroit only smaller.

Re: Japanese Troops in OHIO???? Truth or fiction???
So far I have only found some interesting information about the Honda Manufacturing Plant in Marysville, OH that the Japanese Military Base is slated to be built nextdoor to.

Honda of America Mfg., Inc

On September 10, 1979, a small motorcycle plant outside Marysville, Ohio, employing just 64 associates – 53 Americans and 11 Japanese - began production.

What began as a handshake between Soichiro Honda and Ohio Governor James Rhodes in 1977 has blossomed into Ohio operations that provide more than 40,000 jobs and produce almost $20 billion in products annually.

[link to www.ohio.honda.com]

Honda of America Manufacturing, based in Marysville in Union County, is situated on 8,100 acres of land, with three manufacturing facilities for vehicles such as the Accord and Element and Gold Wing motorcycles, a test drive facility, a research and development facility and a soybean processing plant.

Remember the childhood song, “One of these things is not like the others

Not only does Honda manufacture cars and motorcycles, but it leases 1,000 acres of its own farmland and contracts with nearly 200 farmers to produce food-grade soybeans for Japanese customers.

In 1994, Honda created Harmony Agricultural Products in Ohio, or HAPI-Ohio, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co. Last year, HAPI-Ohio processed an estimated 32,000 acres of non-genetically modified food-grade soybeans and 1,300 acres of organic soybeans. The soybeans are grown in Ohio and processed into gourmet quality tofu in Japan under the name Tamabijin.

[link to ourohio.org]

In Ohio, non-GMO soybean acreage increased 6%, the largest increase in any state. “We saw more growers
switching to non-GMO production for 2009 planting,” says Joe Hanusik, manager at Harmony Agricultural
Products In Ohio (HAPI Ohio), which produces non-GMO soybeans for food.

HAPI Ohio is owned by the Honda Motor Company, based in Japan. Honda ships containers to the US filled
with automobile parts, and HAPI Ohio ships them back to Japan filled with non-GMO soybeans. The infield of
a Honda test track in Marysville, Ohio, is even planted with non-GMO soybeans
.

[link to www.dnaalert.net]

Companies like Honda have special silos in the US where they only accept non-GMO soy, for export to Japan:

"There is a Honda way to make cars, and a Honda way to make beans." — Kiyoaki Yamada, president of HAPI-Ohio (Honda's soybean division)

Honda is also a major exporter of premium U.S. soybeans to Japan. High-quality soybeans known as White Pearls are grown by local farmers in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Some of these soybeans are even harvested from Honda land that encompasses three of Honda's five auto plants in Ohio, an R&D vehicle engineering center and 7.5-mile test track and vehicle testing facility.

[link to martinjapan.blogspot.com]

So, what's my point?

Honda owns enough land in Marysville, OH (8,100 acres) to donate the land needed to build the prospective Japanese Military Base that is slated to "go in nextdoor to Honda" anyway and Honda produces anough soybeans to feed the expected 2300 soldiers who will be living on that base.

In exchange, the base itself can function like a military garrison to protect the Honda plant.

It sounds like a plausible win-win proposition to me.

Is Honda "sponsoring" (i.e. involved politically with) the Japanese Military Base?

New Japanese Military Installation In Marysville Ohio

BREAKING NEWS: In a very surprising move today President Barack Obama signed Presidential Executive Order 23954 authorizing a Japanese military base to be built next to the Honda manufacturing facility in Marysville Ohio. Obama authorized what he called a small contingent of Japanese soldiers, approximately 2300, to be stationed at the base complete with armored personnel carriers, tanks and artillery.
 Quoting: SFC_Swede

this is not true.Japan operates a defense force, not a military, and is bound by its american written constitution not to operate as a military.

Japanese citizens no longer want to be apart of war since the two nuclear bombs were dropped here. When Japan sent defense force soldiers to Iraq as first aid help by request of america, the people of japan kicked up a stink.

this story is false.

My husband was up for an interpreting job at this plant...thank goodness he chose to stay at Pokemon near Seattle. I think I would have gone crazy in Ohio...

But why would a car plant need a military base for protection?

And, why, as someone mentioned earlier, does the plant have an "onsite phlebotemy lab"?

My husband is Japanese, so I will ask him to check his Japanese sources to see if it's true.

The reason given by Obama for this action is that with all the terrorist activity occurring within the United States it is felt that the Japanese government should shoulder some of the responsibility for protecting their interest here in the United States.

Ok, I didn't know that we had such a huge terrorist activity problem... Oh, never mind, I forgot that pretty much all law abiding people are considered terrorist these days. My bad.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME OHIO CAME UNDER ATTACK....

Now I must apologize, you actually accept the excuse for housing foreign troops in the USA...

I am correct about one thing: Obama is NOT the problem. The persons who put him in the WH are the problem...and they are all around us.
