I'm so sorry for your loss, I can understand your hope of finding out what happened to him or how he is doing. Was your husband a Christian? If he embraced Christ during his life, all is well for him, he is at home with the Lord.
I do believe it is possible for a Christian to be a psychic. I do believe that God has many gifts and that contact with the spirit world is indeed possible. However, I don't think it is wise to consult a medium. I'll try to explain why. Just because somebody has a cross on their wall and a bible on their desk, doesn't make them a Christian. I think that if somebody is a true believer and prays to God for guidance with their gift, all is well. However, if somebody is not a follower of Christ, a genuine believer, then they are indeed contacting the dead. I think the warning about contacting the dead means contacting the realm of satan. Somebody who is not reborn, automatically belongs to him and therefore their contacts will be with that realm.
A faithful person however, can be able to contact the spirit world of God, but I think one has to be very cautious. They would have to stay close to the Lord and have the gift of discernment in order to recognize the spirit.
Visiting a medium without being absolutely sure they are indeed a true Christian, is bringing yourself in danger, because NOTHING GOOD comes from contacting the dead, i.e. the realm of satan.
It is probably a better idea to pray to God and ask Him for guidance and comfort for the loss of your husband. True comfort comes from Him and Him alone.

I agree with this entirely. Trust yourself. You have been inundated with negative advice. I have had many messages from my deceased husband and others from my family who have passed over. An Aunt asked me not to forget Olwen-her daughter who is now 88 and in a caring facility. I visit her as much as I can. Most of the messages have been very helpful. My mother sent a very important message to me at a time when I was struggling to finish a book. My husband apologised for not talking to me during the marriage and not emotionally supporting me.This was very true and I have forgiven him. You yourself are the judge ... never forget that.
