The brightest star I've seen at night lately from Colorado is Jupiter. That's probably what it is.

Juliter is quite large in the north for most of the night here in nz op big orange ball

But this thing is many times bigger than a planet.

I have read lots of other threads about it, and people who have seen it have said often that it is in the wrong place to be jupiter.

It doesn't seem to move enough to be a planet either. Seems to stay still.

Sorry i can't give coordinates, but i think others have done so and described its location.

I have my own photobucket pics of it, some in the daytime.

I will post them soon, when my son has time to help me enlarge them

here's a couple of pics I snapped a month or so back about 4am, was trying to get a real twinkly star without a tripod so the shinniy thing got distorted, but there is a pic of a planet or something ! it wasn't there or you couldnt see it, even with the binnoculars, but it shows in a pic from the camera ! trippy !

Jupiter has been really bright lately, was looking at it a few nights ago with a small scope, could see four moons and the stripes on Jupiter, it was/is in the north close to the moon.

There has been a bright star or ? in the north east, flashes.

I posted this on another thread...read it! Here is your answer! It is Jupiter, and it is building up to be at it´s closest point to the Earth by Oct. 29th. Jeesh, all these threads...do some research people...there is a ton of info out there!

On October 29, 2011, Jupiter will be at opposition. At opposition, the Earth passes in between the sun and Jupiter, at which time Jupiter lies opposite the sun in Earth’s sky. If you could look down upon the solar system plane at this time, you’d see the sun, Earth and Jupiter making a straight line in space, with Earth sitting in between the sun and Jupiter. Because Jupiter is opposite the sun at opposition, Jupiter rises in the east at sunset, soars to its highest point in the sky at midnight and sets in the west at sunrise.

An opposition is extra special, because that’s when Jupiter shines all night long, from dusk till dawn. Also, this is when Earth comes closest to Jupiter for the year, and Jupiter, in turn, shines most brightly in our sky. What’s more, the 2011 opposition of Jupiter will present Jupiter nearest to Earth until the year 2022.

I Hope this works

This is the object I see on the East Coast of Australia in the western sky.

For Five weeks now,it follows the setting sun and is there for an hour or so after sunset (dusk).

Before you say its Mercury or Venus, this object is between the 2, I have noted these planets, they are like pin heads in the sky.

The object in the photo is much larger than the photo shows it was taken with a mobile phone.

I think it's like a mothership! That's what NIP will tell you.

funny I didn't even know this thread existed. But on my way to the car after 3 pints of beer at the local pub. I seen the same thing. I was like to
myself "that's bright and very odd". Because wasn't even total darkness yet. The sun had just set. It was 8.10pm Adelaide time. South Australia.

Anyway its like 10pm now and browsing GLP actually amazed that my IP wasn't banned because usually it is. Being a 3G vodaphone node. I looked through and because of what I saw. I clicked this thread. From it position I just presumed it was Elenin. Because its passed the sun now and drifting off into space. But maybe I am wrong. Interesting how all things work though. I will check tomorrow night and get a picture of it. No it wasn't a planet either because it flashes. So I don't know what it is, just thought it may have been ELENIN

i reckon churchward confused mu with atlantis. also when atlantis was flourishing many people were consciously aware of mu/middle earth so it's understandable that lines crossed there

Would like to take more photos, the trouble is they are spraying the sky fiercely here most days, the fake cloud is awesome.
I had 2 days the 20th and 21st no spraying, so I got the photos.
I figure the spraying ceased becaused the queens on the East coast. Started again today barely visible,and guess what the queen was down in Victoria.

They spray the eastern sky as well I guess thats why I haven't seen the other object.

I will be vigilant now though!!!!

It's a *white* star, right?
