Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
my son Jordan who was 24 at the time, came rushing into our bedroom agitated and quite scared. He told me that someone or something was shining the brightest light he had ever imagined down on him while he lay in bed and closing his eyes didnt help. I hurriedly put on a coat and rushed downstairs to go and look what was happening outside. This particular morning was frosty and I noticed no footprints on the whitened grass, all gates and doors were locked..so even though I was a bit afraid myself was confident in my own mind that no ONE had been doing this. So i reassured Jordan and my wife that nothing untoward had happened and we should just try to forget it. That seemed to pacify Jordan and he went back off to sleep eventually and we simply forgot about the incident.
Just over months later our son died, inexplicably, while on holiday in Tenerife. Post Mortem on the island stated he drowned. Post Mortem in England not quite so sure. Inquest not held yet due to evidence gathering by us his parents for our HM Coroner, who has no power in Spain.

Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
Yes, once in the morning. I was just waking up and my eyes were still closed. The sun was just up, so its not like something was outside shining in.

The "black" that you normally see when your eyes are closed turned completely white. It woke me up totally and I looked around to see nothing. Closed my eyes and it happened again.

Never happened before or since. i wish it would happen again so I can figure out what it is..

Move her into your room and keep her there until she is no longer afraid. You could put a camera in her room too.

This just happened to my son, wife, and I. No chance of headlights or lazer pointer. It looked like the flash from a camera and was 2 feet above our dog who was sleeping on the floor.

Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
This also happened to my wife and I a couple of years ago. Sitting in our living room, middle of the afternoon, room darkening shades closed, it was like a camera flash went off in the room. Or as if someone struck a welding arc for a split second outside our windows. We both saw it and gave each other a WTF look.

Not a laser pointer, or any other common explanation. I went out and checked the sky, and saw nothing moving and nobody on the ground. Couldn't be our retinas detatching, because it cast shadows and lit up the room.

One thought was maybe there was an irridium flare and we were in the right spot. But now I'm doubtful an irridium flare would cast light like that to the ground. The flares can be seen from the ground, but I don't think it's a projected beam of light, more like a point of light in the sky.

Whatever it was, the light was intense enough to light up the room in the daytime with the darkening blinds tightly closed.

Sit down and take a flash picture under those conditions, and that's what we experienced. Don't look at the camera, look at the floor or walls as you snap the shutter.

Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
I found this post when I was trying to figure out what my husband and I saw.
We were inside with the drapes closed and the best description is like an old fashioned camera flash went off about 7 or 8 feet in the air at the other end of the living room. It made a slight noise too. It was not a reflection and it wasn't against a wall it was like the flash was floating mid-air. It was a bright white.

Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
I had the same experience a couple times now but both times

I had to lay down quick as it made me very weak. The second time I passed out.

The second time was different as while we were driving all of a sudden things just started to get brighter and whiter till nothing had any color to it just white. Everything. I felt as if the light was coming for me. I crawled into the back of the Mini Van to get away from it and sat in the back seat as I felt really weak from it and needed to almost lay down. All I could see was Bright Bright White Light. I closed my eyes and relaxed till it passed. Left as quick as it came on. It was really weird. We got to Dairy Queen and when I got out of the van I went down for the count. Came too with my Girlfriend looking down at me.

Seeing sudden flashes of light could be due to the beginnings of a retinal tear/detachment. You should probably take her to the eye doctor just to make sure, as retinal detachment can cause permanemt blindness. If they rule that out, then who knows?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5240732

She just went to the eye doctor on December 3rd. They found that she has an astigmatism and near sighted in one eye. Its a common problem that people have so I don't think that would cause the flash. The Dr. said other than that there was no eye disease and her eyes looked very healthy.

Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
has happened to me numerous times where i just close my eyes to sleep and a bright light flashes quicker then i can open my eye. it either flashes once or more then once like a strobe light at a party and it makes the noise a strobe light makes ( that clicking on and off noise of the light bulb). it usually frightens me simply because there is nothing im my room that makes this bright of a light. i can also feel where the light is coming from but the light is so bright that (from the inside of my eye lid) it seems as if the light is shining from every part.

i have talked with someone about it (spiritualist) and she said it could be a spirit toying with me simply because i have a reaction to its "games". i was instructed to talk to it and let it know i and all of my family along with our property are of god. After that i haven't had it occur as often but it happened just the other night. so here i am

Have you noticed any changes in your visual perception since this has happened? Are you more sensitive to light now or noticing any new perceptions with your eyesight?

The reason I ask is because I experienced a single incident of what I can only describe as a light explosion on the right side of my visual field that I believed originated from inside my eye. Shortly after that incident I discovered that I was now able to perceive bands of electromagnetic energy emanating off of electrical light sources. Basically my visual ability changed after that incident. I have not had any similar incidents (light explosions) since.

this is the most correct.. it is a brief flare up of the pineal gland. happens when eyes are shut but you can tell its a big flash.
expect more things... different vision definitely being one of them

Let her sleep in your room, til she feels better with her surroundings. About twice a month my boys start having nightmares, of something being in thier room. I have to let them sleep in my room, it calms them down, and they get over it faster.

Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
I tell the truth, and do not lie when I tell you I saw what I could only describe as a massive 'pillar' of blindingly intense white light cross through the sky, back in February of 2012. I was astonished at what I was seeing, as it illuminated the sky to midday, even at 10 p.m.

I was not 'flaming' or 'pulsing', or 'streaking', as metorites, stars, or any of the such. It was like watch a sky scraper of nothing but pure light travel across the sky from southeast to northwest.

Think of a long, perfectly shaped rectangle of light that takes up 1/20 of the sky as it crosses through in visiblity. It was simply a 'wonder'. It literally looked like the big pillar like things we see on some of the nasa vids, steady in light emittance, in motion, but not moving so fast as to cast an 'after image'. Clearly observable. It was simply remarkable. Something I do hope to see again. Only, I will not lie, it was terrible to the sight. Frightening to behold, as it's behavior was unlike any celestial object I have come to learn of. It just emitted this frightening, steady, non flashing, intense bright white light, consistent from one end to the other, unlike meteorites. There was no 'head' or 'tail' to this. But it's origin appeared celestial, not alien, or manufactured, but cosmic in nature.

It was literally massive. There was no way gauge how elephantine that thing was. I ponder if what I saw was what the Ancient Israelites of the Bible spoke of, when they speak of 'pillars' of light. Because it's shape was that of a consistent gigantic pillar.

This has happened to me as well. It's freaky and scary when it happens, but I think it's a random electrical thing. You might have the electricity in the area (or in the house in general) checked for leakage or anomalies. I don't think it's anything to worry about unless it just keeps happening.

For those who have experienced this does it occur more at certain times of year or in certain types of weather - for example, the winter, or dry, cold weather? I think it is probably a form of electricity/lightening, perhaps related to ball lightening.

Re: Bright Flash of Light Inside Bedroom
I just wanted to add the latest to my original post. Night before last my daughter came in and woke me up at 4am with a nose bleed. She has never been prone to nose bleeds. Her nose was pouring blood from her left nostril. She had been asleep and I guess it woke her up. I got to say that when I think about the first night and the flash of light in her room and now the nose bleed while she was just laying in bed asleep it really has be nervous. I'm trying to consider that its just because its winter and maybe the heat dried out her sinuses but this has never happened before. Last night I had her sleep in my room and she was fine. No problems with nose bleeds or anything. I have decided that if the nose bleed happens again I will take her to the Dr., but I think if I was to tell them about the flash of light and a sudden nose bleed the following night they would think I was crazy!!!
 Quoting: I's_2_D_Skies

I'd have her x-rayed to see if she has an implant in her sinus. Unexplaned nose bleeds might be attributed to implants and abductions.

I think bright light is happy energy and means no harm if the light was red or dark I would worry but sometimes family members come to us after death and maybe that is what has happened to your little girl. I have had my daughter see bright lights in a room in our home but she has also seen ghost. I Have cleansed our home but the activity has started up again and she is so restless at night I know cause i sleep with her. They say children are sensitive to these things and she is a very sensitive child

A friend and myself witnessed somethig just like this about 20 years ago. I was about 15 and as we opened the door the the game room in my parents house, we both got blinded by an extremely bright light! No way it was a car passing by, the windows had been completely blacked out. To this day, we still talk about it!

Very interesting, this happened to me before. It just happened to me I was sitting in my school's library on the 3rd floor and I saw a sudden flash of light like a camera or a flash of lightning. It felt like it was coming from the ceiling, I have no explanation for this.
